Whining noise normal?

Hey everyone, great forum visit it all the time.
I just bought an WDP 04 TL last month and love it, just have a couple of small issues.
There seems to be a whining sound that i hear whenever i press the gas. If i let off the gas pedal the sound goes away so im guessing its not a wheel bearing. Maybe a belt?
Also everytime i switch the A.C. from off to on or even from on to off, i get a mildy smell from the vents.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Interesting I have that sound and thought / think its electrical.

Or at least a sound when I accelerate that sounds like what you guys are talking about.

I take it that this car is NOT supercharged.....or I could tell you what the whine was right away! lol.

As for the smell..change the in-cabin filter. I might help....but not guaranteed.

I have an '05 AT and experiencing the same whine. It just started a few weeks ago. I was worried that it may have been caused by the recent installation of an AEM CAI. It seems to happen more frequently on cold starts and in the morning. Please let us know if you find out what the cause of the problem is. Thanks!

And, I wanted to mention that you should change your in-cabin air filter. I just did this a month or so ago and it's a must, especially if you live or commute in an area with a lot of dust, trucks, pollution, etc. There is a DIY on this forum.

Best, Alex
