Center console armrest "upgrade".

I just replaced my worn center console armrest. Easy to replace and makes a world of difference in the interior appearance. Also replaced the undertray with one from an '07 because that year they have a cutout for the Ipod cable. Literary took ten minutes. Part number for the undertray is 83408-sep-a02za, $32.72. Armrest part number will vary bacause of interior color, $153.30, part number for parchment interior color is 83404-sep-a01zd. Ordered online from acuraoemparts.com.

It's an '04, the cut out is at the front of the undertray. I think you are talking about the cell phone cord cut out at the rear of the undertray.

My original one wore out when the car was 1 year old. Dealer replaced it under warranty.

I have an 06 an it is pretty worn I had mentioned it to the dealer before amongst a list of other things. I wasn't sure if they would even come close to replacing it so I didnt say anything when I got my car back. The thing is I have 58xxx miles on it now it was cpo so i got the warranty to 62,500 but then i also purchased extended warranty to 100,000. So my car is under warranty but not from the dealer i guess? not sure how that works, but do you think I have a shot at getting my replaced?

Dealer replaced mine under warranty as well when I told them it was really worn out. Might be worth a shot to try to get it done for free.

Yeah mine was worn out as well when I bought the TL.. I took it off and found the culprit to be be no padding underneath the plastic trim & leather.. it's just glued in.. I heated up the glue and peeled it back. Stuffed a stryo sheets in there, then I used paint matched acrylic and retouched the worn out spots and it looks pretty good, definitely a vast improvement.

Holy crap.. are you serious? I suggest you guys buy some touch up acrylic. It's your money though.. I'm just cheap.

I had some rips in my rear passenger door panels along with the worn & pitted arm rest from the previous owner who we'll call "douchebag". There are a couple companies that claim to have paint matched leather dyes for our cars but didn't trust the paint / dye being a good match, especially since camel interior is like a dirt magnet, color has changed & they were pricey.. lol.. went to a few places like Michael's and some local stores but ended up finding the best deal on acrylic from Home Depot.. took a couple of tries because of the color variation but got it matched using the removed arm rest.. it's been on since Oct.. still looks good.. I'll try to remember and post up some pics when I get home.

this would work good in the worn portion of my drivers seat that gets abused by my ass sliding in and out of the car.

that's pretty damn good. It does seem that the passenger door map case may be a little glossy looking, but awesome job. Did the previous owner hall elephants in that TL?

I keep getting snags in my driver lower pocket, the one that swings open. Had a bad one before and then it got replaced when I got in an accident. Got a similar snag again, and you can't buy the pocket seperately.

it's my flash, in sunlight it's difficult to tell the difference.. but if I were to do it again I would notch down on the finish.. can't remember exactly what I got.. I'll post up when I remember, or find the leftover paint.. the rear passenger section didn't come out smooth & seamless since I put too much sealant when adhering the rips but otherwise it came out okay and 97% better than the rips / eye sores.. lol..

Yeah the previous owner must have been an elephant himself.. The aluminum center console trim was destroyed and the interior looked like a pack of dirty dingos got locked in the car.. I have a real cool DIY on the trim and stain / dirt removal.. but seldom have time to finish & post up.. too many alligators nipping if you know what I mean.

When you say trim dirt removal, are you talking about the cloth upper trim? Cause if you have tackled oh, say, dirty freakin hand/finger prints all over the camel cloth, please let me know. They had all my doors off when it was in the repair shop and made what looks like prehistoric cave dweller symbols all over my interior. I've been wanting to try a diluted resolve solution but have been hesitant because I know it's delicate material.

again, helluva creative leap. cheers!

^ yeah.. camel interior is an absolute dirt magnet.. when I bought my TL I had greasy finger prints all over - sun visor, headliner, A & B pillar, rear deck, I mean everywhere.. lets not mention the seats..

but after a couple once overs it's really starting to clean up.. I use this cheap stuff I read about on other forums called Blue Magic.. I buy it at Walmart but I've seen it elsewhere.. it's an unassuming ~$3 can of dirt & stain ass kicker..

I first used it to clean my mud ridden carpets in my MDX.. boy.. I thought those stains would never get out.. but sure enough.. *poof.. then I've done two applications on the TL.. still not perfect but it's coming along well. Here's the proof on the carpets (good for the house too, took out red wine ):

Blue Magic is awesome. I had to use it on my passenger A-Pillar for smudge marks. Works wonders......... The big aerosol can will last for years. It can be found at Walmart.

Call Acura Customer care, this is a DEFECT

I have the same issue with my 2006 RL, tried talking to the dealer and acura, both UNRESPONSIVE, even telling me "That's not a defect". Call this number at Acura Customer care and let them know it IS a defect and we are tired of hearing it is not our problem. My Rl is is great condition, 85,000 miles and perfect...except for this DEFECT.

anthony will answer, flood Acura Customer care with calls and let's get this fixed. spend $50,000+ for a car and this is what happens?
