my cd player will play the cd for like 24seconds and then it stops. the CD changer takes a while to switch over to another cd and then sometimes the whole radio screen goes blank.

I would have to turn my car off and back on to get my radio to play.

 

Well you have a few options. have it removed and fixed by a mobile car audio guy. Replace it with a new or refurb unit. or say good bye to your cd collection and go with an ipod or mp3 connection solution. Unfortunately there is no quick fix or diy on a malfunctioned cd player. Could be a bad resistor and broken spring inside the unit...anything like that. Good luck to ya!

 

I had to give up on my CD player almost a year ago...popped in this burnt CD my Dad gav me, it played for a minute and then it would ignore me. Recently, I don't know what happened but it started working again recently.

Good luck, man...give it a rest, pull the battery to reset the radio, then eject ALL and see if any are sketchy burnt cd's you added. Worth a shot.
