It is quite all right sir.

Unplug the HFL, that should fix your problem.

How old is your battery? Lots of Acurazine members have reported batteries testing okay only to find out after replacing it, that was the source of their problem. Internal cell failure is difficult to test for.
I hope disconnecting the HFL solves your issue but note if your battery has been dead multiple times (aka deep cycling) you may need a new one anyway.
Keep us posted.

Yes sirs, I was thinking the same two things- either HFL or the battery has past it's prime. How old is your current battery? Still the original? What year is your car?

Not sure if you care, but the HFL is easy to replace, but somewhat expensive. If that is causing your drain, you can either leave it unplugged, or pick up another one online for about $200.

the car is a 2008, and the battery is just about 2 years old. thing is even after a week of buying my new battery and couldnt start it without a jump. got the battery replaced (duralast gold- dont know their reputation but i thought it was a good choice at the time) and it just drained in the same amount of time.
long story short i took out the HFL, which is never used since it took all its time trying to boot up whenever i did want to try it out. i noticed that the little black box it was held in was fairly warmer than everything else that was inside the car so it was pulling some power. just started the car again and its been going on 3 hours so i think that was the main issue. just to be safe though ill post whether or not it starts tomorrow since its fairly cold over here, overnight rest should be enough to kill the battery if the problem wasnt fixed.
thanks guys

If you had the constant trying to boot up and the upper center console was warm, then you definitely have a bad HFL. You should be better off now that it is disconnected. Only question is how much damage has it done to your battery.

If you live in a cold weather area, the frigid temps will do the battery test for you.

well i do see that youre in mass, our weather doesnt compare to yours over there. the arctic mass is just doing its thing over here in texas right now too.
car started fine today with no choking . of all the problems it could have been im a little surprised it was due to the HFL, i was expecting it would have costed over $200 to get this fixed.

It's definitely cooler than it is supposed to be but we aren't having the crazy cold temps they have experienced in the uppper mid-west.
The HFL issue is unfortunately fairly common. So far I haven't had the issue in 11 years of 3G TL ownership, but did have to replace it on our MDX. If you search here on AZ, you will find quite a few threads on this. There are multiple remedies from simply disconnecting and doing without (which I wouldn't do) to baking the PC board, replacing of diodes, soldering and replacement.
