car won't start :(
11pm and I was going to pick my wife up, I went to turn my car on and nothing.... all the lights inside are dimming and when I go to turn the car on, it all dies. I turn it again, take the key out and just put it in II, The radio LCD display dims, the radio comes on but then dies, comes back on and then dies again.
I can't set the alarm, I'm guessing the battery needs to be replaced?

What is a reasonable price for a good battery that I can pick up at say Strauss Auto? (It's the closest one here) Long walk too with a dead battery ugh!)

are you sure you need a "new" battery, or could it just be dead. I recently had the same problem had to walk 5 miles to a wal-mart at 2am to get a jump starter...worked just fine. Drove around for 25 minutes to let the battery regain a charge and the next morning everything was just fine...just want to make sure your not spending more money than you have too. Call a buddy and see if they have a jump starter, may save you some bucks, good luck with the problem

I went to the car this morning and it started after a small struggle. My VSA/ABS however were not working. I turned the car off, turned it on and you hear the starter and nothing. I stop, try again, and the car kicks and is alive.... Don't ask me how.
I took the car to autozone and they checked the battery/alternator and it tested as Good Battery. The battery I have is an Interstate battery.
The connectors were corroded, I purchased some cleaner, brush and cleaned them right out, I also put the gooish thing to prevent corrosion. It sucks too because the time I needed the car, it would not start.. talk about reliability. However, nothing serious with the motor and it this experience just cost 20 bux (Including the tool set lol).
I hope I don't have anymore problems. I've been saving up lately and I have plans for new toys to install...

Corrosion on the terminals can get to the point where it affects the current flow and the ability to start the car. In an emergency you can pour Pepsi or Coke on it. That will eat the corrosion away in a heart beat. Now that you have clean terminals you should be good to go.

I was driving home from work the day before yesterday and everything in the car started flickering at like 65 miles per hour (Car did not shut off). I pulled to the side and the positive was just off...
I reconnected it and tightened it as best I could with the tools I had and drove home safely. I parked my car and popped the trunk and as soon as soon as I started trying to tighten the terminal, it just snapped right off with little to no force. I went to strauss and picked up a replacement one for $3 the same day. Hopefully that was the issue, a bad terminal.
