Car battery keeps going dead and HFL not working
Hi, i have a 2006 Acura TL which been giving trouble lately and was wondering if someone can help. The car battery keeps going down dead when the car is inactive for few days. I had the battery replaced and the car starter and battery charging was identified as working fine. My HFL has not been working for over a year now and the battery problem has started only recently. So not sure if the HFL could be causing this. Would appreciate any help from folks who may have experienced similar problems.

Agreed if it's not working, disconnect it. That way it can no longer draw and kill your battery. Search here on Azine for how to disconnect/replace and some creative fixes.

Disconnect HFL, problem solved.
If you don't believe, touch the overhead unit (interior light switch, sunroof switch, homelink) towards the window in the morning when you get in and you'll notice it's hot.

Definitely the HFL unit. Have had to replace them for the same issue before at the shop. Easy to replace (above the the fromt dome/map lights) Part price isn't to hateful either.
