A/C Trouble
For the last few months my A/C has had a mind of it's own. Sometimes it blows cold and sometimes it doesn't. It seems as though the compressor only kicks on sometimes. It is charged and at proper levels and my fans work so I'm not sure if there is something that decides when/when not to kick on the compressor that is faulty. Any help is greatly appreciated. 2007 TL.

I just did the self diagnostic test with the A/C and on the second step when it says Lo and blows full blast, it shuts off. Did that twice. Is that the complete test? If so, nothing illuminated.

I had the same problem. It was a bad relay. But it could have also been the clutch coil (which I replaced anyway - long story). Your compressor is definitely not bad, since it still kicks on sometimes. The relay is located in the under-hood fuse compartment...but I don't know if there are other relays in there, or if it's the only relay in there amongst the fuses.

Take it to a shop (or maybe Acura) if they don't charge much to check your A/C system. My local shop charges $38 to check every part of the A/C system to see where the problem is. My A/C actually did the same thing...some days it worked like a dream, some days it cut out sometimes, and eventually it went out completely. But I highly doubt your compressor is bad. Like I said, have it checked out. The mechanic will tell you what's wrong.

Your problem is most likely electrical.
The self test will post a code on the climate control if it fails.
My guess is relay. You can test clutch by applying +12V to it directly after unplugging connector. if it engages and the engine load increases, you are golden in terms of clutch and compressor.
Also, the compressor should not engage when the system reads ambient temps below 32F...it's by design.
