Unhappy A/C problem

i ahave a 2005 tl base and the a/c start to cont cool every 4 to 6 minuts i dont know what cant that b , my frien tel me about the thermostat of the a/c

are you saying that the compressor comes off and on? that's normal?

are you saying it only works for 20 minutes then all 'cooling' ceases for good?

when i power the car on it cools and in 10 minutes it stops ,

to power it back on i need to power the car off, and back on for it to cool again

Your ac compressor clutch and field coil might be out. Happened to myself as well as several members on here.

You need to check the low and high side pressure with it running. If it is low on refrigerant, then it will stop when the pressure gets too low.

If the pressures are fine, then look at the clutch.
