A/C Drain Plug Clogged?

I noticed today I'm not leaving any condensation on the ground when my a/c is running. It's about 100 degrees today and it should have left something on the ground. I even went inside a store and left it running for about 10 minutes, return and nothing. Could my a/c drain plug be clogged? If so, is there a way I can clean it instead of going to the stealership? If anyone has pics, please send them. I've searched for the past hour and couldn't find anything.

It very well could be plugged, GET IT CHECKED ASAP. If it is plugged and your evaporator fills up, it will be expensive. I'm not exactly sure where it is in the car, but at a least I would blow some compressed air into the drain tube (from an air compressor, not the cans) to clear out any debris.

Here's what can happen if it drains into the car...

Holy snap! It's a good thing I don't run my a/c all the time. I haven't noticed any water leaking insided either. I guess I may have to make an appointment with the stealership. Any guesstimate of how much it would cost to clean them?

Was it a humid day? All the condensation is is humidity hitting the vapored refrigerant and...well condenses.

No it doesn't get humid here in Idaho. Mostly dry heat. The other times when I did use my a/c I did notice the condensation though.

Doesn't matter.. you'd have to be in a vacuum to not get condensate..

Ok, I'll make an appointment to have it checked out. Hope it's not costly.

It shouldn't be. I had the tech show me where mine was and it exits the car on the passenger side where the firewall and floor come together, it is about 1 to 1.5 feet from the side of the car, in case you want to check it yourself.

Yeah I do want to check it myself. Would I have to put the car on a wheel lift to see it? I made an appointment for Thursday but I do have acess to a lift before then.

If your car is lowered you will need a lift, but you may be able to squeeze under it if not. It is behind the front passenger wheel, about 6 inches back, and a foot in. A lift would definitely make it easier though...

Does it look like a big gromet type hole? If so they plugged it.

Why not just post it here. Get a free Photobucket account and then use that to post the picture. See the "how to" link in the picture forum.

This is simple to check. Just park the car and look under it. The drain tube is where blokhead said it is. From the passenger side around the rear of the front wheel well, look for dripping water about a foot and a half in from the rocker panels.

Thanks for the info. I'm still new here I guess and still exploring the forum. Due to a busy schedule I don't get much time to check everything out. I will post some pics up though.

Went to the stealership this morning and they showed me two places to get to it. A couple of spiders created a home there as well as the hose itself wasn't long enough. It's all fixed now. He showed it to me on my car and an 06 or 07 Honda Accord they had there as well. It's in the exact location. It's easier to get to inside the car if you can't get under it. I'll post some pics up when I get some time, more like this weekend. I want to thank all of you who helped me out on this. Really appreciate. it.

Sorry I didn't get back to you in time. I've been really busy with work, and finally got my car back today, and it's going back tomorrow . Glad everything worked out for you.

No worries, I understand everyone's work schedule can be hectic at times and being in the military it's a way of life. Thanks for your help on this. What's wrong with your car may I ask.

Yeah I did. The tech guy told me to always check the drain tube to see if anyone plugged it because a few of them do and he showed me as well. It wasn't plugged at all. Just had quite a bit of spider webs in it though. I didn't have a chance to really check for myself because it was raining all day along with a busy schedule. I'll take a look tonight or put it on a lift tomorrow morning with the a/c on to really see if they fixed it.

Isn't there a very light plastic thingy at the end of the tube? You can push it in with a finger and it takes 0 effort. At least that's what it seems to be on my car, or am I not looking at the right tube?

AC Drain tube Photo

Below is the view from under the TL. It is to the left of the front passenger tire 6" and about 18" in. The rear of the TL is to the left of this photo the top is the passenger side, the bottom is toward the drivers side . The tube seems to be flush with the hole in the frame. Is this correct?
