Bumper grill
The grills in the lower fascia of the bumper? Are you sure that's what you're hearing from inside the car? I get a rattle from the center channel speaker which is a common issue. A bit of padding can resolve that one. I haven't heard of the grill rattling, and I'm a bit surprised if you'd be able to hear that.
It sounds like something outside. Whenever I reach low speeds, at around 10-20 mph, it makes that sound. When I went outside, the passenger side grill is extremely wobbly. When I move it left and right, it makes hitting sound. I'll try to hold down the center speaker tonight.
Those lower grills are held in with 4 clips on top and 4 on the bottom. If you don't have the A-Spec front lip you can remove the lower grills very easily. Just have to reach in from the back and squeeze the clips and the grill will come out the front. In fact, here is a pic to make things super clear. You owe me for this one. lol You can just remove the lower grills and see if that makes the noise go away.
I just checked the lower grilled. The grill itself is not loose, but the shiny metallic plastic piece is making the noise. Is it part of the grill or I can take it off without taking off the grill? What is holding that metallic piece? The noise is very low in the inside of the car, but with windows down, it's audible. It sounds like boiling water in the car. Also, if I was to take out the grill, is it easy to put back on, since they are squeeze clips?
Very coincident thing happened today...I was checking the chrome trim on the passenger lower grill and it was moving and was thinking about taping it down to isolate the rattle. I went to a car wash and after the car wash, everything was freezing up. I was wondering where my rattle went, because initially I heard it, then it went away. Then after I got home, I realize that the water turned into ice on that chrome trim and it was impossible to move it. So I think that's definately where it's coming from. How do you remove that chrome trim?
