Brake lights won't turn off
2005 Acura TL - just got home and parked the car... and noticed that my brake lights won't shut off even after the car is locked and set for over 10 minutes. Im sure it's probably some kinda faulty switch, but might anyone have some direction as to what? Also, what fuse would I be pulling to save my battery in the meantime?

Probably brake lamp switch failure, maybe a bad ground...
Go under the dash on the drivers side, and pull the fuse for "tail" light, if not, it's called something else...
I did did a quick search, and couldn't find a diagram for a 2005 TL...
I can't say for sure, but it's that way in almost every other make...
If it's any consolation, your brake lights are full LED so it won't drain as fast...
Start pulling those fuses, use the diagram on the fuse box panel...
If all else fails, disconnect the battery!!!
Best of luck!!!

That's probably the easiest option, then pull the fuse in the daylight later...
Either way, I doubt those lights are still on...
If if you work a weekday job, I guess you're glad it decided to break on a Friday!!!

So I didn't find a fuse that was specific for the tails which was rather odd, and I didn't have any tools to be able to pull the battery fuse from under the hood so I left it... as it was after 1 am trying to do this. This "switch" on rockauto is like 6-8 bucks which makes me feel better if this is what it is.. but not sure how to conclued this 100%

If all else fails, you probably need a brake light switch, Make sure it's adjusted properly when you put it in.
I had to replace mine last year, so age could easily be a factor in its demise.

I just sent for a test drive to make sure my battery wasn't dead, based on some reading - I went to check my cruise control and that's not working either... so there seems to be a brake/cruise switch which probably is the issue... I'm scared to see that the dealer might charge for this..

Unless these items were recalled, or you have a good service contract, you're paying for it...
It's a 2005 car that is many years out of warranty, at this point, the dealer will treat you as a basic customer, like an independent shop would...

New brake switch from rockauto is $6 from Beck:

install shouldn't take more than a few minutes at home. Plenty of info online on how to do it

Whatever you do, don't go to the dealer...
If you don't want to install it yourself, bring the vehicle and the part to an independent shop, ask for a quote...
It should be a quick job for a seasoned wrench, but it can also be a PITA...
I did a reverse light switch in a Chevrolet truck, NEVER AGAIN!!!
It took well over an hour to get it to clip in, and after several tries, it did...
Laying on your back working under a dash in a tight spot isn't for me!!!
If it's similar, I'd reconsider doing it myself, but hey, it might not be that hard, it probably isn't... Call around if you want, but AVAOID the dealer at ALL costs!!!

If it is the brake switch....15-20 minutes easy. I just did mine a few months back due to dim break lights. I grabbed my switch from my local Honda dealer which is just a few miles from the house.

PEDAL for 2005 Acura TL
Back in June I had this little pain in the ass fail on my CL-S6 clutch (Inhibiter) switch and it left me stranded. I realize you are an automatic; however, there are three of these that allow various switches to function on a manual pedal assembly (clutch inhibiter switch, for manuals) one for cruise control switch and brake light switch for automatics.
