Unhappy Brake lights went out

Hey guys, last night I was driving back from dropping off my girlfriend and at a stop light, a cop pulled up next to me and told my my roof (middle) brake light is not working. My question for you guys is, what should I do? I don't have warranty so if I take it to the dealer it will be expensive (possibly?) Also all the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel all the lights went out. The steering wheel lights are a major problem to me, but does anyone have a suggestions or DIY to go in and look at that rear brake light?

new mod????? lol
if it were me i would take it out and make a new one out of led boards ( if possible, i dunno cuz i never took one apart) but it would be a $20-$30 fix vice 200 just for the light not including the work. i'll take a look at mine tomorrow when i get back to the car and let you know what i come up with.

Well I looked into it and it is actually a bad sensor. So I am going to replace that for no more than 13 dollars. I figure out the light stays on at full brightness for like 3 seconds then it fades and dies off. It was the stop light sensor that was bad. It kept on thinking that I was pressing the brake then taking my foot off of it but I really wasn't. This seems to be a common problem. Does anyone still know about that steering wheel lights? How expensive is it? It is not a major priority right now, and I don't have warranty.
