Brake Lights Don't Work

Quick search hasn't given me results similar to my issue.

All brake lights do not work when braking is applied.
It randomly stopped working. I don't know how long it's been going on for, seems a bit recent.

All fuses are good.

Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have any electrical mods?

Did you check fuse #13 (20A) in the under hood fuse box? Does your horn work? If not, it's the fuse.

Otherwise, could be a faulty brake light switch or a connector loose at the switch.

^^^ Good post.

Probably the switch at the pedal.

The only 'electrical' mods I have are switchbacks+resistors and fogs. But they've been good to me since modding.

All fuses are fine, haven't checked the horn.

I was thinking the switch behind the pedal too but haven't checked it yet.
What are signs that the sensor/switch behind the pedal has gone bad?

All parking lights and what not work, just none of the brake lights turn on.

The signs are what you're experiencing, when the fuses are ok.

Thanks! I'm more then definite it is the sensor.

Just tonight, I was driving and my ABS kicked in. Don't know if the brake lights went on or not. But as I parked my car, I noticed my lights were working [the reflection against the wall].

Then I tested it again... and noticed that the 3rd brake light wasn't working at all. Did a quick search and others who had part or all of the 3rd brake light not working [or dim lights] had a sensor issue.

Thanks for the help. Will get it checked and see if it fixes my problem.

I have the same problem on my 05 Acura TL 6 speed. For me it's the fuse #13 the keeps blowing when i use two things on that fuse. I know for sure it blows when i press the horn and brake at the same time but not individually. I also think it blew when i was coming out of the parking lot and the one of the wheels spinned and the vsa light came on, and later when i came to a red light and pressed the brake i looked on my rear view mirror to see if my thrid brake light was working and nope, the fuse had blown. I haven't fixed it, so i'm not sure of the solution yet, i heard people say it's the horn that draws to much current because of bad ground. But if your horn still works your fuse #13 is good and you might have a different issue than i do.

My horn works fine. Scared my neighbor at 2am testing it out
The first thing(s) I checked were the fuses. They like to blow when there's lots of moisture in the air. I thought that was the case but all fuses are fine this time.

I'm pretty sure it's my brake-pedal-switch since my two brake lights are working again (3rd brake light doesn't light up). I don't know how bright they were before the situation... so I don't know the difference.

Just about to order the switch.
