Big problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this is about my 2005 Acura TL with Navi , first of all I'm a dumb ass for eating shit and trying to put HID's in replacement for reverse bulbs. here goes

I was trying to put HID on the reverse bulbs i put the first one i turn on the car put reverse it light up for 2 seconds then it turned off, i thought maybe a fuse went wrong, i installed the second one, while i was in the proses the alarm went off, i thought it was nothing, i cliked my remote all good, then when i go to my car, i notice this

-A/c not cooling
-Power windows not working
-Sunroof not working
-Cluster lights up like if the door was open, when car is turned on, the whole cluster goes off
-Turn signals dont work (But the hazzards do work WEIRD!!)
-Original reverse bulbs dont work eather
-Transmissions sounds weird and makes hard shiting when goes to D or R, also i thing it only shifts untill 3rd

its all soooooo fucked up

Anybody has any idea what went wrong? i spent HOURS cheking fuses none gone bad, i switched around some
relays and still nothing, anyone pleaseee??

Hmmmm. You may have friend some interior electrical components, but that's weird that no fuses were blown. Did you check both boxes, including the one under the hood?

HIDs in reverse lights ????? Do you drive in reverse a lot?

Jokes aside, I agree with gatrhumpy, you might have blown the electrical components, had this happen to one of my cousin's accord but it was due to bad after market speaker install, his power locking system got fried.

Where did you mount the ballast? When HID's first fire up, they draw more current from the ballast in order to excite the gas and create an arc.

I didn't even know HID's were available for reverse lighting systems.

Ok, but what about the ballasts? If you didn't buy an actual HID kit, you do not have HIDs. My guess is you probably have incandescent lamps which are of a higher wattage and therefore generate more heat and draw more amperage.

But if I am wrong, I'm just curious where you got an HID kit for your backup lamps.

Does the engine start and does the car run? Have you checked other electrical components such as your sound system, Nav (if you have it), interior fan, overhead lighting, etc?

He meant "Body Control Module" but in the TL I'm pretty sure it's called the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit" or MICU. The MICU is integrated into the fuse box so you have to replace both at once. I think it's #4 in the following LINK TO AcuraOEMparts.com. It's not hard to replace. Just disconnect the battery, remove the driver's side kick panel, disconnect all of the connectors to the fuse box, and then the two bolts holding it in. However, it's not a cheap part. How sure is your mechanic? Did he actually pull codes which indicate that it's the problem or is he making an educated guess?

HID's in the reverse are awesome... I've been running them for 6 months now with not an ounce of a problem. I've also hooked up a tail gater switch to get people to back off.

In any event... your poblem is that you tried to power your ballasts off of the stock reverse light wiring. Thats a huge no no. Not enough power in those puny wires to ignite the ballast so it comes on for a while and will shut off. Its trying to draw too much current through those things. You need to relay it off to run power off of battery directly.

Where are you located? If you are close to NY I'll try to help you out.
