Battery/alternator problems

I have an 06 6-speed and lately its been giving me some sort of battery problem. To make a long story as short as i possibly can, i was driving home when all indicator lights turned on, some dimmed. Then my gauge meters wouldnt read even though i was on the street driving roughly 35mph. My clock screen and navi/stereo were also disabled. Then my right front headlight went out.
I got home, parked and turned it off. Waited 5 seconds and tried turn it on and the battery did not have sufficient power to turn the engine. No clicking sounds from the starter, no slight attempt from the engine to turn, just nothing.
I assume its a faulty battery, gave it a jump and it ran. Did this twice, so i also assume the alternator is not giving the battery charge when i drive because on the second jump, after driving it for half an hour, my battery light turned on and it started doing that thing when all the indicator lights turn on.
I was wondering if anyone had any other opinions on what it might be? Or if anyone has also had this same problem? I plan on replacing both battery and alternator simultaneously.
