Auto trans problem

Hello, I put a used trans in my 05 TL because mine died. Got the trans from a yard and it's warrenty is 90 days.
Now my car is really slow to go in 1st and won't go into 2nd or third. I swapped the sensors from my original tranny to the used one but did not use the original torque converter.
It also grinds a bit and bangs into park. And yes I know it's used but I didn't have the money for a rebuilt or have mine rebuilt.

Is there something I'm missing?

Yeah. Your "new" used one is fucked. Never just go pick up a 04-08 tranny from a yard. Chances are it's fucked. You either get it rebuilt or get a new one.

Yeah sounds like that one is no good either. Should've done an accord trans AV6 swap

Make sure the guide pins were installed properly when you installed the trans!
Did you try the trans with both sensors or just the ones you put in from the old trans?

Did you plug all the harnesses into the right places? Is your D light blinking or the Check Engine Light on? If yes, you'll need to pull the codes to see what is the cause of the electrical issue.

Best bet is to return it and get a accord v6 trans. You'll need to swap over only the range switch from your TL. 07 & 08 TL trans will not fit 04-06 tl.

If you did the install yourself, did you use the factory service manual to help direct you on how to do it properly?

I tried to find a Accord tranny but was pressed for time. Not I can throw time out the window.

I did the install with another mechanic. We followed the manny.
I'll go back and recheck.

I ran into the same thing with my first Accord, first automatic my mechanic found wasn't any good, 2nd one was rock solid. He went through someone else the 2nd time since he felt the first place was less than honest about the mileage it had on it.

And don't get me started on the rebuild I paid almost $2000 for initially...that was a year long horror story that included nearly 40 days of car rental while mine was back in the shop several times.
