I know it's an old thread, but it just happened to me. I tightened the cable and it seemed better then went to limp mode again. I tried reseting the ecu and so far so good. My question is if it does fault out again, is it just the app sensor or can it be something else? Would really hate to replace the part if that's not the problem but also wouldn't want to go to a shop and get over charged. My thought was that at least at the dealer they would most likely find all the issues related to it but it would be pricey.

 

Did your Check Engine Ligjt come on? If so what was the code? That will confirm if it's the APP.

FWIW, my issue went away for a full year after ECU reset before returning, these issues don't fix itself, eventually it will come back.

 

It was p2138 with the vsa and exclamation point on and usually the vehicle stability assist83 code along with it. Wasn't sure if that code only apply to the app itself or the sensor under the pedal or a combination of other things.

 

Great thread, Was having issues with a sluggish gas pedal. Did the APP Sensor replacement and adjusted the throttle wire in about 40 minutes. The car is running much better. Many of the issues I was having are now gone (rough running at idle, hard shifting, etc) are gone. Will be doing the AT 3rd and 4th Gear sensors next week, with a 3x3 AT flush. Really appreciate all the great knowledge shared on this forum.
