Sorry to sound like a wiseass, but if it runs fine, why worry? If it does bother you that much, drain and refill.

^I gave you the same advice, Jer.

if it gives you peace of mind, change it.

for the short term it wont really do anything. But for peace of mind i'd just get the FM stuff in when you're under the car again.

i'm not sure for the TL's particular transmission but in the hondas i've had you can run normal motor oil as a temporary replacement in a pinch. non-FM Synchromesh is probably better than regular motor oil.

that GM one you put in there is better than a honda one anyway so relax. Change it if you want to friction modified, it's not gonna explode.

Personally I'd drive it for a few hundred miles and change it again irrespective of the fluid you use. Then again in another ~15K.

It really shouldn't bother the transmission one bit. It's not all that sensitive.

Ok thank y'all; I kinda figured it would be at least better than stock..I remember correctly the FM stuff actually causes slippage and wear but makes smoother shifts so I was kind of thinking maybe the non FM would just be harder shifts and maybe last a little longer... but yes I'm going to change it next time I get a chance then instead of a immediatelymediately... thank you again everyone...

I guess well this state is open & I have the chance to ask; is there any synthetic manual transmission fluid people use with our car that has been proven to be ok?...would it be alright to maybe royal purple or something...I had Amsoil in my automatic...
