3 x 3 fluid flush
change the transmission fluid 3 times with 3 quarts of new fluid each time. Trans holds 9 quarts of fluid and you can only replace 3 at one time.

Of course it's a auto transmission only. Torque converter is what holds most of the fluid while the actual tranny holds 3 - 3 1/2L.
Proper way to do the three by three flush is get the car hot and then flush the fluid. Measure what comes out and put the same amount back in. You'll never get all of the old fluid out so its best to do another flush on the next or second oil change after the 3 by 3 flush. Then after doing the first flush go road test and go through the gears and do the flush again with the tranny fluid hot and measure again what comes out.
Rinse and repeat its pretty easy. You can even do it yourself if you can access the drain plug with a 3/8s ratchet. It's by the middle of the car where the black cover is covering the tranny. Fluid will drip on there and you will have to clean it up with brake clean and a rag.
