So i'm currently in the process of doing a 3x3 drain and fill for my 2005 TL, first drain and fill went good easy process. I'm doing a week interval in between each drain and fill, also im ordering the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches to install on the last drain and fill. My question to you fellow DIY is I order six quarts of the Honda Trans fluid DW-1, already put in first 3. Im going to need to order another 3 quarts to have for my last drain and fill, I want to Order Amsoil ATF fluid for the last 3 quarts. Will the Amsoil fluid mix fine with the OEM honda fluid or will a problem come up? I just want to know before I order it, I've read in the post that a lot of people recommend Amsoil or Redline ATF.

 

Why do you want to mix Amsoil with DW1? These transmissions are picky, I would do all OEM, or another round of Drain/fills and run all aftermarket. Unless you're having issues with DW1 I don't see a need to switch.

I guess I will take your advice at get 3 more quarts of OEM its cheaper anyway. Maybe I will run Amsoil next time I do another 3x3 drain and fill. Do you run DW-1?

 

Yes I do use DW1.
