I have a 2006 Acura TL, and of course, the dash is cracked pretty bad. Are there slim dash covers that clip over the stock dash? Not those fabric ones that just sit on top.

It's probably the best looking one I've seen. If my dashboard cracks I will probably try to fab up a leather wrap - I see lots of cars have aftermarket leather wrapped dashes. I was surprised ours doesn't. Even $800 for a leather wrap is better than paying that for a replacement OEM that will crack again. Its probably because of the passenger airbag...

 

then how do you explain the people who have had dash cracks all over? I've seen pictures of people who have had like 50 cracks in every area of the dash

 

I was referring to why there probably isn't a leather wrapped dash option. Even the coverlay which looks nice has a stupid hole for the passenger airbag. There would need to be some extreme customizing of the leather as far as perforations go to make sure the cover didn't impede the airbag deployment.

If mine cracks, I may attempt it and just suffer with no pass. airbag. It's not my daily driver and I only put about 2,000 miles a year on it and its all solo.

 

I just seen the plastic cover thing is nice but fuck 200 for it might as well go to acura and see if they will help u with a new dash... Don't get me wrong if all option's fall that plastic cover is my next option. ...I recently fell victim to the cracked dashboard. .. Going to get a hold of acura and see what they can do

 

i think most dealers wont really help you out on the dashboards as the car gets older at this point. in 4-5 years i doubt any of them will help any 3g TL's. by help I mean cover part of the fees
