2008 TL type S Shifting hard

i have been looking through the threads for possibly one on hard shifting. Haven’t seen one unless I over looked it.

Ifbthis is posted somewhere someone please redirect me.

i have a 08 type s w/at. It was shifting hard from 2 down to 1 and sometimes from 2 to 3. I changed the fluid out and it’s still doing it. Possible shift control sylinoid, what’s there 3x3 cleans or changes I have heard of, pressure switches...

any help is appreciated thanks!!

The 3rd and 4th gear pressure switched are certainly worth replacing; what kind of ATF did you put in your car and how many miles was on the ATF you drained out?

So 76,000 miles on the factory fluid? I strongly recommend both the switches and a 3x3 fluid change (of which you've already done the first) with Honda DW-1.

what shouldnthe mileage be between the 3x3 changes? Also that means just draining and filling the fluid right... and which switches exactly? Any posts on where they are located and how to possibly? I can do most of car stuff on my own but find how tos with pics or video is the hard part at times

Pressure switches or Solenoids... same thing.
remove driver side wheel. all the solenoids will be on the tranny case in that drivers wheel well.

because Automatic transmissions have clutch packs, NOT ALL tranny fluid will come out when you remove the drain plug.... so, you cycle new fluid with old fluid, BY DRIVING. enough driving to cycle the fluid.
basically, you're mixing old with new, until you have all new fluid... hence the 3x3x3 method....

drain 3 quarts...cuz only 3 quarts will come out.
Fill 3 quarts..... Drive.
do this 2 more times...

3x3x3 method.

the hard shifting is going down to first from second and at time from second to third. So just the third to fourth would fix that?

not a conventional on and off switch.... it's a solenoid. pressure switches is just another name for them...

they have wires and a molex connector attached to a solenoid screwed into the tranny case.
remove drivers side wheel.
look at tranny case through drivers side wheel. you will see wires going to a plug that screws into the tranny case... remove the molex connector, then unscrew the actual solenoid.

the type-s has more pressure switches that need to be changed than the base.

Google it.
"Acura TL pressure switches" "type-s pressure switch location"

So I had a friend hook his reader into my car to see which solenoid was bad and it pulls up pressure switch B. Nothing I have read mentions switch a, b or c. Are they the 2,3 and 4 pressure switches?
