2007 Type-S Leaking Bad from Driver's Side Front Axle

My 2007 Automatic Type-S only has 80K on it. I replaced both axles about 6000 miles ago and didn't have any issues. Then all of the sudden my left axle started leaking so I replaced the seal and it's still leaking. I've heard from a couple people that my differential might be bad so I have to replace my transmission. Any ideas? Thank you.

There's chances that the seal was installed backwards. Did you make sure it was facing the right way?

I had my mechanic buddy install it for me so I assume it's installed correctly. It looks right when I look under the car. It sure does leak bad though.

Well, he might be a good mechanic, but he's also human and we all make mistakes. There's no way to tell if the seal is on right without removing the axle. The seal will fit and look right no matter which way it's facing, but it'll only seal one way. It's either facing the wrong way, damaged, or... you got bigger problems.

Pics? It's easy to damage the seal if you're not careful putting the axle back into the transmission.

Just wondering what the outcome was. I have the same issue with my 08 type s. Prior to me purchasing previous owner had both axles changed when I went to replace seal thinking that was problem I found out the inner joint never locked into place allowing it to slide out causing leak. I purchased a new aftermarket axle still doesn't lock into place going to order oe hopefully its a design issue in aftermarket considering I don't see anything wrong with output shaft in transmission.
