2007 Type S front brake pads

Hi. I need to replace the front brake pads on my 2007 type S. The dealership told me that the brake pads for a type s are twice as much as the regular TL. i was going to take it to a place like Midas to save some money, but they said that the brake pads would only be $180 vs. the $350 the dealership told me. Is Midas using the wrong ones or is the dealership just charging a lot? The $350 did not include rotors. Thanks for your help...I'm clueless when it comes to this stuff!

The front pads MSRP at a bit over $200 so the dealer price most likely included installation. I can't say what the Midas deal was but there are plenty of alternative non-oem pads that more than fit the bill for a lot cheaper. I believe a lot of people on here run the Cmax pads from Autozone that are about $65.00.

You can prolly purchase the pads and then have Midas install them.

Many alternatives when it comes to pads as you can get new pads as low as :

CENTRIC Part # 10210010 C-TEK Standard Metallic
Brembo Front Caliper; Front $16.70

Dozens priced between the low and the dealer price, just depending on what you need and want to spend as they are easily installed.

+1 for CMAX. Installed em myself and I'm not that technically savvy. Brembo calipers make it a cakewalk.

CMAXes lack the initial bite, but for a daily it doesnt matter. Brake as often as you want and you'll get free pads for life after the first purchase if you keep your receipt.

Posted right above yours! Duralast CMAX!

A ton of type-S owners love them b/c of less dusting and free pads once they wear down! The inital bite is a bit less but for regular street driving it shouldn't matter.

I've used them c-max over a year and for street driving. I never noticed a difference.
