I have a CEL on only owned this car for less than a week

everything seems normal... cel come and go but for the most part it stayed...

not sure if you can hear the whistle/whine, it should only be audible when I have my phone up to the engine bay area. and does it sound normal overall?

sounds fine to me...but cel could be the gas cap... click at least 4 times to make sure since u say it comes and goes

Ever pulled the code on the cell when its on? Or does it flash constantly??

 

1) Is OP DC2's car's VSA light on, along with the CEL?
If so, it probably isn't a gas cap issue.
What dash lights are on when the engine is running and the parking brake is off?

2) What year is DC2's TL?

FWIW, I can't hear a whistle, especially with OP moving around with the phone. It'd be best to stop and record the sound while staying in one spot for 10 or 15 seconds.

It looks like the visible intake duct is stock, too...

 

i got it checked today turned out to be knock sensor i think. possible from rodent or wire damage because shop says i shouldn't have any problem with the sensor and cleared it, if it comes on again i'll go check

but anycase
-cel is on by itself regardless of anything
-intake is bone stock
-only light on is just the cel lol
-2005 tl
