2007 TL-Type S Leaking Oil!

My 2007 TL - S is leaking oil. I backed out of the garage today, to find a pool of oil by the right front tire. It is definitely engine oil, as the oil level was halfway between min and max, and a week ago it was at max.

Took the car to the dealer today, for this problem and a few others:

Rear Clunking (attempted fix twice with no success)
Clucking noise in front end
Rattle in dash area

and now an oil leak...I wonder what else will go wrong with this car?

Mileage 1340, car is 54 days old.

Others have had the clunking - search the forum.
Don't know about front end clunk.
Hopefully the oil leak is minor; you might want to ask about replacing the lost oil with the same stuff that is originally in it; the word is it has special additives to help break-in, and should be left in until the 1st MID-recommended oil change.

if it's the passenger side (right side) then thats where your oil filter is, see if it's loose

Yes, it is the passenger right side. The car is at the dealer, so I am going to let them figure it out.

In 26 years of owning cars I have never had a loose oil filter - this would be a first! Then again, I have never had a car give me so many problems in the first 60 days of ownership either, as this one.

My 1981 BMW rides on a quieter suspension than this TL-S, and has less rattles at 132K!!

Had to vent....sorry.

Update

The oil leak has been found. The Power Steering reservoir was not properly installed, and was rubbing against the belt. This caused the bottle to have a leak.

I am amazed...this is an Acura.

My friend was fixing up a flat tire for me while he noticed this oil leak appear to be under passenger side. My TLS is now 9949KM. Taking it back to service tomorrow!

If it is the belt rubbing against the power steering reservoir, make sure that the belt us also checked for damage.

The reason given to me was that the PS reservoir was installed crooked, so the tolerance was off.

So I took it back to Acura yesterday. They looked at it and tightened several bolts underneath there. That's the only reason they gave to me. I will be watching see if there is any more leak.

It appears that the oil leak is back at the right front wheel. I found some oil on my garage floor this morning....back to the dealer we go.

This car is really trying my patience.

I dont blame you. They need to do something, or you need to find a new dealer. Call the client services, maybe they can help a little!

good luck!
take care

Since the car is brand new contact the BBB (www.bbb.org) and file a complaint. That is unacceptable for a car costing this much and with the quality of of a Chrysler. See if you can get the dealer to buy it back and replace your current one. Lemon Laws apply
