we need to be clear which side of the car you are asking about. The left side is the drivers side and the right side is the passenger side. The serpentine belt is on the right side and the transmission is on the left side. Where is your noise coming from?

it is coming from the pasenger side which would be on the left so would that mean there is a issue with the transmission? the dealer talked about the serpentine belt and how that is the problem. im also being told by my friends who have looked at it saying its a problem internally in the motor itself

If you or someone you know is mechanically enclined you can easily figure it out. Take the serpentine belt off start the engine, if the noise is gone then its your belt, tensioner pulley, ps pump or the a/c. with the belt off, and the engine NOT running spin each pulley by hand and see which one is making noise. If the noise is still there with the belt off, then your problem is something else.

Serpentine Belt Issue
Had a similar noise in my 05 TL 3 weeks ago. It wasn't the belt. The belt tensioner was replaced and that didn't help. Tech with help from Acura found that the sprocket behind the belt tensioner needed replacing and they had to use a "spacer" with the sprocket. Acura said their findings would generate a TSR on the issue. Acura had no knowledge of this problem prior to my repair. Now it is just as silent and smooth as when I purchased it.

This seems to be an issue lots of owners are fighting so I am typing the pertinent info from the service order. Your Acura Dealer should be able to access my record from my VIN as follows: 19UUA66215A071494. NEED TO CHECK FOR A WHINNING TYPE NOISE POSSBIBLE PULLEY BEARING MAKINE NOISE...ADVISE...LIKE A TENSION PULLY....DRIVE BELT NOISEY, DRY & DIRTY...REMOVED ACCY BELT-STILL NOISEY. REMOVED TIMING COVERS-NOISE COMING FROM TENSIONER IDLE PULLEY-REPLACED PULLEY & TENSIONER. NOISE STILL PRESENT. REPLACED TIMING BELT-NOISE STILL PRESENT. CONTACTED TECH LINE: REF# 2543572. WAS ADVISED TO REPLACE LOWER SPROKET BELTS & INSTALL SHIMS BEHIND TIMING BELT IDLE PULLEY-NOISE GONE.

i had just went in for mine yesterday, i had a chirping/rattling noise comming from thepassenger side of the engine bay....i thought it was the serpentine belt issue as well.
Got the car aback at 5pm, my service advisor had told me it was a heatshield above the passenger side front axle, they had to bent it because it was hitting something, noise is all gone now....just saying that this MAY be another possibility.

Belt noise
I know this thread is old, but it's time to bring this thing back to life. The belt on my '05 TL is squealing, and I've had the serpentine belt, idler pulley, and belt tensioner replaced, but the squeal still comes back. The squeal is usually heard when the car is started, up to about 30 minutes into the ride, but sometimes it'll last even longer. Belt conditioner only makes the noise worse! Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
