The 3.2 is problem free, but at @ 102,000 miles, water pump, timing belt needs replacement along with spark plugs, maybe $1000+/-. Trans problems on some regardless of the year, actually no different from most other vehicles and the inspection would be the same for every car, tires, no uneven wear, brakes, rotors, suspension components, battery, etc.

Here's some threads I randomly picked:

dude no big problems my 04 tl has 190 thousand miles no major problems timing belt n water pump is a easy thing to do over weekend...just buy a 20 dollar haynes book on your car it will tell you how to fix anything and everything on your car,I done my waterpump timingbelt tensoner pully, idler pully, and tensoner actuator in about 2 hours taking my time.spent right under 300 dollars to do it all.... as for buying a used acura tl no worries just check it out real good before you buy,do carfax n mabye have your mechanic look it over for you.. I love my TL its a beast still after all these wonderfull miles and if your worried if its too much of a old man car its not i run mine like a race car everyday and it takes it like a champ...Just keep up with maintanace full synthetic oil and full synthetic tranny fluid.

I have an 2004 Acura TL with 50,000 and i have to say that this car is one of the best cars i have ever had. I'm a full time student and it has never let me down. My advice is to go for it and buy it!
