2004 6mt Electric Issues

Yesterday on the way to work the battery light came on. Managed to drive it to the garage this morning and as I was pulling it in the alternator started smoking. Ended up putting in a reman alternator and getting a warranty exchange on my battery that is less than a month old. Just got home from a drive and the battery light comes on again. Just replaced the alternator and battery and I don’t know what to do next. Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

Not saying it's the problem but a couple months ago I replaced the clamp on my positive cable. I had to cut a bit of the insulation off the wire to put the new clamp on it and it was full of corrosion. I suspect I may not have even needed the new battery a couple week before that.

Battery light pops up for a few seconds now but only on stops. Not every stop either, it’s about a 10 minute drive home with around 5 stops along the way at red lights. Light didn’t come on on the way to work and only came on once on the way home for a few seconds when I was at a red light. I have suspicions of it being the belt tensioner. Anybody have any idea what these symptoms point to, or what a worn out/faulty belt tensioner can cause?
