'07 Climate Control Problem (already did the obvious stuff)

Of course this would happen while I'm in the middle of a cross country drive....

I searched, but since I'm using my phone (laptop in trunk), I may have missed the thread I need for this. Not to Menton we're running 80 down there intestate right now...

'07 TL, Navi.

I had my blower motor fail about two years ago and was able to replace it easily. No problems since then.

Noticed a little while ago that windows weren't defogging very well and since I just swapped out of driving, was able to play with the controls more (temp hi, low, fan hi, low, changed modes and every combination; both sides same time, crazy cross setups of high and low temp, manual or auto fan.

I replaced the filter two months ago, but that was the first place I looked. Filter clean and motor running STRONG.

With filter and holder out, TONS of air coming in the top. NOTHING coming out either side, center stack, window vents and defogger. I've tried nearly every combination of manual, auto, recirculate fan speed, still nothing. The faintest bit comes out, but it isn't like it's blowing air.

I see one big white lever to the left of the filter, behind the center stack moving, but that's it.

It seems like there is a single choke point, but I don't know where to look.

Thanks for the help, still a couple more hours left, only 500 more miles to go.

That said, I REALLY appreciate any help, KY is going to be COLD the next two weeks and I need heat!!!

Pulled what appears to be a fan resistor, plenty of flow there...

So blower works, that's a good thing. Is the air hot?

You should check for DTCs, that could help diagnose a lot. Here's the procedure to retrieve the DTC.

Sorry, rolling 80mph, can't run the DTC till we stop. ;-). (Only two reasons to stop IMO and one of those is debatable)

The tiny bit (and I mean TINY, like just a little seep of air) DOES change temperature with the controls.

I suspect that the one lever I see move is the mode selector.

Stopping in 15 min, will run codes.

Thank you!!

Yeah it seems like the air mix/mode control motors aren't working on either side. All 4 can't really stop working all of a sudden at the same time, so I'm thinking relay or something. When you run the DTC codes you'll know.

Also don't pee in a bottle, that's gross.

You sure that's the right procedure for an '07 w/nav? I tender it being a process of holding two buttons down, but can't find it online and aren't getting anything from the car when I try several different combinations.

Hey, hey, hey now, nobody said anything about peeing in bottles! I just believe in suffering until the two time lines align again, "only 75 more miles till I can stop!!"

As I sir here, key on, play with mode, fan and temp buttons; every one of them on both sides causes noise/movement under the dash.

The procedure has worked for me an my 08 TL-S. Never had any DTCs, but tried it to see what would happen and it worked.

OP's molars are going to be floating..............

A colleague and I drove from GA to MA after 9/11 and only stopped when we needed gas.

That's the procedure from 04-06, I imagine 07 might have been similar. They're not completely different cars after all.

Shouldn't be really difficult. Car off but key in ignition to on, hold down OFF on the HVAC then press recirculation 5 times every second or so.

Also if you hear everything move and see them move properly it might not be the motors, hm...
