'05 TL, P0958 code...

i have an 05 tl that has a code for P0958 Auto Shift Manual Mode Circuit High. when i try to do the shift selector mode, the D for drive flashes and the CEL comes on. i have read that this means i need to replace the pin shift selector switch, part # 35740-SEC-A82. found a place that sells it for $38, but, i have not found anywhere that tells where this is located so i can replace it myself.

any input would be great.

thanks!

It's under the center console just in front of the shift lever:

Also, part #2 in this diagram:

There are several DIY and even a video or two on how to remove the center console in the 3 G Garage. Use this link to find the Garage and other valuable info:

Camosilver, Were you able to fix your P0958 with this part? I have the same problem and I wanted to make sure I get the right part. Did you tackle this yourself? Was it hard? Thanks for your help.

Hey Camosilver,

I am looking for this exact same part! I've tried looking at on-line distributors, and they tell me it a part onlt a dealership can order.

How / where did you find this part?

Thanks!
