freaking radio code...

okay so it got down to about 5 degrees last night and when i woke up this morning on my birthday to drive home, my radio said "code"... blah blah blahhh so i read up on some radio code threads and one states that you can hold down the 1 and 6 buttons and then press the power button adn it will give you the serial number or 8 digits to call the dealer with to retrieve your code... so i tried this a few times and now it says Err E ... so i call the dealer and lady says pull out radio and call her with serial number or come pay 110$ for them to do it.... i posted at the bottom of this thread as well: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...highlight=code

what a shitty way to be driving around on my birthday! somebody please help me... i don't want to have to wait till monday when i have to drive back to school to worry about this!!!

I found my radio code under the fuse box that's under the hood towards the passenger side. There was a little sticker there with the 5 digits. Check there.

^ If you're lucky.......the code can sometimes be found on a sticker in or under the glove box. It is usually given with the original owner's paperwork and operating manual. If you know the dealership which sold the car new, all they have to do is look it up by the car's serial VIN #. Other dealer's probably have access to this info as well, but would like to make a quick buck out of the deal !

You could just get an aftermarket HU or just pull out the radio and give them the serial number.

if you looked everywhere for the radio code and not found, you can pull the radio to get the serial number off of it and dealer will look up for free
OR
pay $25 to a website that has the info based on VIN

Did the battery die, thats the only reason to get a radio security lockdown

only some years will do the button method, others need to unplug the antenna connection before it will take the code

^ Did you try what this guy said?

Unless the stereo unit you have now is not the one that came with your car, that's your answer right there... And if your car doesn't have this sticker underneath the inside cover, I'd be a little concerned.
