'04 Acura TL click

Hello All! I drive my car everyday maybe 10 miles city give or take, and when i come to a complete stop at a light and drive off, there is clicking sound from underneath the car. It doesnt happen all the time, im guessing a couple of times during my drive. I have about 120k, purchased the car from the dealer a little over a year ago and i don't know if there was any service done to the trani by the previous owner, assuming this might be trani problem. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks for the help guys!

A little vague, but when does the sound appear, when foot off brake, when car starts to move, clicking sound once or numerous times, straight line, turning?

I wouldn't start freaking out about transmission problems just yet. Could be something as simple as a CV joint.

Mine does something similar, it usually happens within the first 30 seconds of driving after starting the car. It's 2 loud clicks and that's all, it doesn't matter whether I'm going straight or turning. I don't think it's a CV issue, because it only happens once. It's not a major issue, just kind of annoying having a random click with no explanation for it. I almost feel like it has to do with some kind of auto adjuster somewhere, like a parking brake adjuster or something (not sure if our cars are equipped with something like that or not).

'06 Auto with 91k miles.

It happens when i step on the gas, and it only clicks once. Wolfgangvonbrutal described it perfectly with the exception that it will happen after about a half hour of driving on the streets. I have a 6 speed transmission. I am a little paranoid as i have had a lot of problems with this car, but i just started to notice this recently. Thanks for the info everyone.

I heard the click again today after 20 minutes of highway driving, it usually only happens immediately after putting the car into drive. It was only one click this time, not the usual two clicks. It sounds like it comes from the center of the car and not the front. Eventually it'll bug me enough and I'll jack up the car and take a look around, but until then I'm just too damn lazy haha.

I'm still thinking its a CV joint (inner) probably. Sounds like its just a little sloppy. Put the car in Drive in a parking lot and give it some gas and then just take your foot off the gas abruptly (don't ease off). See if you can hear it making noise.

You can do the turning in circles thing (lock to lock) to see if your outer joints are clicking at all, but I think this could be an inner joint. Any vibrations during acceleration or deceleration or anything?

I will give it a try. No vibrations with acceleration and deceleration. There is a sort faint squeak when turning in circles. This happens no matter in what direction i go.

Faint squeak when turning in circles is probably your brake pads, but not the clicks probably
