So against my better judgement I drove my TL to a concert in down town Madison. Now I have never parked any of my nice cars down town in fear of something happening to them. I didnt want to take it but I didnt want to make my girlfriends friend crawl in and out of my Civic Coupe that I drive as a beater. We were joking all night that I would be crushed if something happened to it, we walk out and sure as shit I have a card from a police officer stating " Mr. Black, Please call me asap reguarding the damage to your vehicle". I get out like oh hell no! And my "Awesome" Parking spot at the end of the row with pillars on the right side and nothing on the left (door dings) was not such a good spot! This lady cut the corner and got my rear cover, tail light, lower lip, and exhaust!

I am blowing this up a little, its really not that bad but my car was flawless, nothing ever painted on the car and all panels inc the covers matched perfect. (Rare for covers to match from the factory). Here is a pic. Like i said not bad but the exhaust is pushed back (less then 500miles on it) the cover is torn, A-Spec lip gouged, and taillight housing cracked.


The best part is the woman that hit me called the cops cuz she said i was not in a legal parking spot and the cop got there and said he sure is parked in a spot we dont put meters in spots you cant park in! Hahaha Her loss and now her insurance has to cover it!

sorry that happened to you, at least it's very minor and you won't be paying for the repairs.

i also hate parking in places like that. i like to park at least 2 miles away from the location i'm going to, take up 3 parking spaces, and set up cones around the perimiter. but thats just me.

Sorry about the damage. Glad the responsible party is at least accountable, as it would be a bigger headache were it a hit and run, uninsured driver, etc. Good luck with the repairs and hope the shop does a good job matching.

 

Hahaha i do the same thing but then i always get people parking right next to me way in the middle of nowhere just to be an ass! The i leave them a little note:

Sorry bout the damage .. the + side is its not on any metal panels .. looks like you get away with a light & bumper cover and a little exhaust work. On the exhaust have it put on a hoist and inspected to see if it damaged it further up front too.

On the bumper repaint ask the shop if they guarantee a color match ... if not go elsewhere. Your not worried about thier body work quality .. just thier painting cuz the rest is a parts swap.

 

I use to be a painter so the shop i am going to you can bet is good haha. They switched to water born base which makes pearl and metalic paint stand up and look alot "cleaner". We did some spray cards and we got the paint to be pretty close. Now i am just waiting on the persons insurance company... this happened on monday and still waiting for the go-ahead. They hit my parked car! Not that hard to figure out!

All jokes aside, things could've been A LOT worse but I understand where you're coming from man. I got side swiped barely on 285 in ATL one night and I was LIVID. Hell, the damage was way less than what you have and I was ready to kill lol
