Dude! You're the man!
Oh, and :snicker at your plans to "Keep" it. I don't believe that for a second.
But I still love ya!

Yeah, it's unlikely...
but you know, I do think I was kinda foolish for getting rid of my old one.
Blue, not black.
Got the new slave installed yesterday...used a syringe to fill the slave ahead of time
and it was perfectly bled. Leaned on the very corroded upper rad hose neck and
snapped it off...awesome.

Denso rad on the way along with OEM thermostat, hose clamp and hoses...fuck it, one less thing to leave me stranded.
Clutch brake fluid was fuckin gross...171K...

Alright boys...
done...thanks to this thread and a few of you for pointing out which part of the assembly was the checkvalve on the LUK.
I recall last time around I was like WTF is this...put it back together and ordered open box OEM from Amazon.
I tried to scrape and use a blade and kept snapping them...finally gave up and went back to my tried and true method of cutting a groove.
Easy peasy.
This time around I depressed the plunger on the slave all the way and used a syringe with brake fluid to fill it up as I released it to ensure the
cavity was full (that's the hardest part of bleeding, getting the trapped bubbles out of the slave itself since they get caught in crevices. Bench filled
and bled...jiggled and pushed bubbles out, refilled etc...bam, back in car...old fluid at reservoir was nice...fluid AT failed slave looked like aforementioned
doodoo butter. Tasted just as bad too.
Bled a bit to get that nasty shit out (with my mityvac) and for the first time ever doing this pedal was firm and without air in the lines from the first time I pressed it. Bench fill
these slaves!

Seem to also have assuaged the main power steering leak from the higher pressure line...
cut the highly crushed end of the line and slid it down and added an oetiker clamp (thanks Volvo!)
Also, scored some OEM mufflers and tips for $20...gonna extend them 3 inches to sit flush with the aspec lip...
I HATE the tiny doubles the guy before me welded on.

Junkyard digs...
scored some aftermarket smoked looking base tails...
I'll likely sell those on the BM.
Also found a hitch receiver which is AWESOME.
Also found a sidemarker I needed badly on the LAST of 7 3G TL in the yard.
None of them type S none of the manual...
I love these cars.

@gatrhumpy @04WDPSeDaN Thanks boys...
they are already off the car. They don't look as good as the reds on NBP.
Did a bunch of shit today...fabbed up some brackets to hold the aspec lip on the back...
cut the tail bottom supports off so no bumper drop to swap tails...
Installed the hitch receiver...installed some amber fogs...
lowered the car a bit more and re-rolled front fenders...I'll need to drop to 15mm spacers
or cut that little fender to bumper tab up front to roll that flat as well.
It looks SO good lowered more. Ride is a little harder but that's to be expected.

It's funny but I keep thinking, man...you had a type S...you're back in a base.
but then I think, well it's harder to make a base look cool...but when it is done right...
04-06 Base with aspec is the classiest look IMO...really what the car was supposed
to be and what I fell in love with.
Anyway, yeah...I need to find some all weather mats, some
I'll end up blacking out the headlights and making some red stripes. That was my favorite look
and not THAT difficult to do. I would like all weather mats and a short shifter nub from ct...maybe
inspire fogs to balance out the look of the front of the car.
When I sold blue I KNEW how much money in aftermarket parts she had but I think I took
for granted the little things and how much they add up to recreate the car. I am trying to keep
in mind that I don't want to OVER modify...just keep it simple and still basic looking.
Trunk light and notification on the MID don't work due to that little white switch on the release...there's a
little metal tab on it but I'm not sure how it was SUPPOSED to go so I'm not sure if it is broken off and not
repairable. Might try to score one of those from the junkyard too. Last night I took advantage of the fact
that my lady fell asleep and swapped out what I imagine was the OG trans fluid. I put some Delco SM stuff
(the rebranded GM FM SM stuff) that has come down in price substantially on Amazon. Smooth as butter now.

She already is starting to look a lot better! What are you going to do for the interior and wheels? I know your not going to keep the OEM wheels for long..
@Jakes_tl Thanks Dude.
I may refinish the ESR's...I like the Kai look and they are perfect fitment.
We shall see, I actually dig the stock wheels, they roll smooth and look clean.
but yeah, obviously they are you know, stock.
I don't want to get too heavily invested in it yet...gonna keep it a good looking
clean history beater for now...Definitely gotta get them OEM axles though. That'll
make the driving experience nice.

@Jakes_tl I have so much other stuff going on that that's so far down the priority list...
first thing is making it drive well...I've been cleaning it up and making it look decent too but
after throwing a few hundred at some stock wheels that aren't bent, I'm in no big rush for a
change from that. Plus, I've had the aspec and aftermarket look forever. I'm kind of enjoying
the simplicity of the oem 17's.
Went to the junkyard again looking for the little switch for the trunk release to tell the MID that the
trunk is open. This is needed for the light to work. Cut that out, grabbed a bunch of random
hardware and also a set of front door speakers from an 07/08. I also got the door pool cables with
the notorious green grommet that breaks. I took my time yesterday and what did I see? Freakin
SPC rear camber arms that I love.
Last night I used RTV on the lower leather that is torn on the driver seat...I bought a piece of leather
to put under the rips and use as a pliable foundation. Actually worked great...I'll probably use some
leather filler and dye to make the repair not jump out at you.

I'm not done with it yet...
but for all practical porpoises, I basically stopped the "flaps" of where it tore from being flappy...
I was afraid of them catching on my work jeans and ripping off or getting worse.
I should have used the lighter side of the leather but it was smooth and I was afraid it wouldn't adhere
as well. I actually watched one guy repair a leather seat with RTV so I knew it would stay pliable and
strong enough to work. Next up would just be filling the crack, lightly scuffing and dye which I need to order.
If I do that I don't think your eye will go straight to the damage, which is all I'm trying to accomplish. @Jakes_tl
@cu2wagon why you gotta spoiler alert for everyone ahead of time?!?! You already know what's coming.
@Yumcha we are quite literally going to hold you to that.

Nice little Honda ride out yesterday AM...
I had driven the S2000 all day Saturday so I wanted to take BAE out too...
Actually got more love than the KBP did last year. Something to be said about
NBP and the classiness of the OG Aspec on the base TL.
