@ the link John...but I think 1 thing you are forgetting is population density of america is 88people/sq mile....that of India is 954 people/sq mile....so roughly 11 times....
with that population if people drive in lanes/follow speed limits, they will never get anywhere....I used to laugh (when I was back in India) on stories about people falling asleep at the wheel is US....I often thought to myself, how is that possible....but I feel asleep behind the wheel the first time I drove in US (was going from NY to Boston)....Driving in India engages you completely....
As I said whatever works for the people (people and not country)...Loved driving in India as no speed limits, cutting through traffic and constantly being aware of your surrounding....and it was not just me, but everyone around you drives like that and hence no accidents....my insurance was the low as a mofo....no tickets....
When am here, I love driving because you have a 99.999% more chance of making it home......
...in 1 piece

I am taking a Highway course, we go in so details to figure out or decide the limits, or the design of the roads blah blah. But at the end one old lady will come up and stop at a entrance of a highways which there is a "Yield" sign and boom there is your...

Meko, please tell me you didnt use exhaust wrap on the Intake...
You have to use insulation wrap
Exhaust wrap "trap" the heat inside and insulation wrap "reflects" the heat....
the front end of urs is looking SICK !!!

Oh maaan, yes that bumper is annoying me. One by one
That will wait for spring
Oh ma god look at that ugly front end
daciss, it's the red stripe/tape thingy from Autozone
Just like the chrome ones, in red
Yah dude it's a exhaust wrap, but noooo air could get it now. See the pics below
No one knows much about it in here, well, you do I was talking to you but not many helpful threads
So I went in to Subaru forms and did some search
I used the exhaust wrap
Took that black tape from dads restaurant, it's storng as a duct tape but also has patterns just like the gold insulation tape. It's for hot/cold weather.
Anyways, taped it with black one to keep it in place and tight
After that, used the gold tape to kick away/reflect the heat
Tell me that's not a golden idea now

Now, wait for your turn little beauty
Ohh just removed the front plate again. Not going to NY with that thing on
Will put it back on on Monday, because brother failed the license test drive, taking it again on Monday

Wait what? Isn't that the cover/shield to keep the filter cleaner?

And I just noticed that Anil didn't read the posts again.. after seeing the pictures
He told me to use insulation wrap although I mentioned it up top

Meko....car is looking SICK
about the exhaust warp, this is what it does:
Traps the heat (from the exhaust) inside....so if your TL is sucking in warm/hot air (imagine a 95-100deg hot day), the exhaust wrap will TRAP that heat inside....and then the black tape makes it worse...am glad you used the golden tape on top....
I recommend something like this:
I cant find the base insulation foam roll on Homedepot.com but here is what I topped it off with....
http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...1#.USvYtDCzJcc
the intake and TB used to be COLD on a 100deg day...

Why don't I receive e-mails about posted posts Anyways, I did 615 miles

Thanks Acura Dude..
Oh maan, I don't know, but I wrapped it

Yes I did wrapped it with gold of course
My thoughts are it totally will stop the heat and since it will suck cold air, that might keep the inside colder.
I did go to Homedepot, couldn't find the stuff you told me, and that thing on the link as well
+
For look, gold is better
but I wrapped the gold perfectly, not even missed a spot
Tell me that's good, leave it

Don't want to unwrap it

I saw one nice black UA6 @ Paterson, NJ
Had fogs
Tint
A-Spec kit
A-Spec rims
Drop was low that you can't see the top of sidewalls
Camber nice
Lip spoiler too as I remember
Couldn't take a pic
I was in front of 900 Second Ave, Manhattan NY in 2 hours 45 minutes again

I just can not beat that time

On the way back last 100 miles to Boston was sooooooooo bad
Snow, rain blah blah

Anil,

I used this route first time
After Hartford CT I-84, I always take 91 but I tried this road, continued on on I-84, asphalt was much much much better than 91 and 95
and did same timing, but I guess, kind of longer route
https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=b...via=1&t=m&z=10
Went down to Somerset, NJ too, came back on Sunday Night
Had fun, friends blah blah

Meko, car looks clean for being through snow

About the wrap, leave it as is and see how it is but with the exhaust wrap what you said "My thoughts are it totally will stop the heat and since it will suck cold air, that might keep the inside colder" does not work
Dammit hahahaha
but why does the subaru people use it, I followed those idiots
They should be expert on this thing

Asian friend at Acura (thanks to him he saves me so much money at the dealer)
He has STI and EVO
Both new model, STI puts like 340whp
He is crazy with cars, he told me to just powdercoat the intake pipe to orange and leave it
That helps?
I don't think soo
More wrap is better
:P
eeeh we'll see what happens

Yeah car looks clean but I saterted to hear a noise from the bay
I drove like a bish through the snow and I was fast too, pushed the tranny too much on the hills
I got home, trying to park the car (slow speed), I am hearing whining noise from front of the glove box (inside the engine bay)

The mod that people says it's bad in winter (cold)
but some says, NOoo nothing happens
That easy mod, removing a small pipe and connecting it to somewhere else????
No I didn't
Teach me master

Well, I have had that mod for around 2 years and been through 2 winters just fine....I understand Boston does get a "colder" winter than KS....
It is a 5 minute mod (I exaggerate) and can be easily reversed....this prevents hot coolant going through your TB and heating it up and hence the intake air...

PS: let me just tell you this....the only time you will mess anything up is if you get some FROZEN rain up the intake and STILL COLD enough to freeze your TB Butterfly and hence leaving it open....
If you think you are ever going to encounter that condition, reverse this mod in the winter or just leave it as is

the tb coolant bypass was one of the first things i did when i got my TL over 3 years ago, no problems. had the same mod done to my previous car, RSX-S, with no issues too.
Nah I am not going to reverse it for winter, nothing would happen
So I just unplug that from the TB and plug it to that other location?
I don't have to buy anything? Use the same pipe?
Yeah Steven I know
I need some xenons in there
dad was driving my car again. He said I need new suspensions. Yes yes buy me some
It's coming soon
After I finish the stuff I have for the car right now, I know I will not stop from buying those from XLR8
but I want rims so bad too.
18x8.75 +20 for sure
and 225 for sure too, just like John

Meko...you can use the same pipe, however from hot coolant flowing through it for 5-ish years, mine had become brittle and hence I just got a new hose and use it in there
and I bet all of Azine got my back when I say "Coils before Rims"
Get coils, then get rims....keep a lookout on BM for lightly used XXR with some tires...you will get a ready set of rims....

If this thread is fun, your thread is heaven
Anil, I couldn't figure out which one is the right pipe for the coolant bypass
I will take pics and ask you guys tomorrow
Yeah coils first, that's for sure
Noooh I don't want used rims, tires
The rims I want are not out yet anyhow hehe
I should order Breakemotive next month, or will wait and buy coils during April
What fluid do you guys use for brake?

if you need brakes, dont wait
get the brakemotive set....when looking at brake fluid, I feel you have 2 options:
racing:
rbf600, rbf 5.1, ate super blue.....
I am going to be switching to the ate super blue:
regular/street
Valvoline Dot 3/4 at Advance AutoParts...its $10 and works GREAT....I have not changed my fluid in ~35K miles and the Dot 3/4 and it has been awesome....

Last brake flush I had was in 1/14/12 @ Acura

Rotors get that rusty look when it's wet and sits there. Goes away after a bit of driving.
