Dear Zax,
I am not sure that powder coating could be applied to plastic parts as the process requires the part to be heated in an oven for the powder coating to melt and spread. Would suggest that you talk to professionals about this.
For local powder coating shops, use Canada411 search engine for Montreal and d a category search on Metal Finisher.
Best regards

Its official, this is one of the most "Love it or hate it" rides on the boards. Like I said before, I love it, and some may share the same feeling, but I doubt anybody is on the fence about it. So at least you have a unique conversation sparking ride that you love.

hehe. Ron, I knew doing the all black wheel and car thing would be controversial, but I didn't know how much people would dislike it. The good thing is we all customize our cars to our taste because we're the ones who drive them. I will obviously be driving this car 'til it's dead as selling it in its current state would be very difficult! In any case, I love it and thanks everyone for your comments: good, bad or otherwise!
Ron: are you still working on a grill? A nice black grill would solve my front piece painting woes.

I'm usually not a big fan of black wheels on anything except black or white cars, but you pull it off really well. You have done a wonderful job with the entire car. Sorry to hear about those mud stains. Keep up the good work.
Also, what problems are you running into with the emblems that you painted?

Thanks subinf!
Well, on the emblems and the bumper trim pieces I used special car plastic trim paint which I thought would be more resistant to chipping. But even after just two or three weeks, I have a lot of chips. So I need to find a way to protect the paint better. I tried doing a combo paint/clearcoat job, but the paint starting bubbling when I applied clearcoat to it.
But if Ron comes out with the grills he has pictures up there, I'll just buy one of those and it'll solve my problem.
P.S. Ron, I just noticed today that one of my RJ center caps from the 1pfs either fell off or was stolen , can I buy maybe another 4 from you in case this happens again? Maybe I should glue them on somehow?

I hope you peeled the paper off the back of the center cap emblems, there is adhesive that will keep them stuck in permanently. otherwise they just fall off which is what prolly happened.
email me your address, I have to ship you the miniemblems, better late then never.

I really like it. Thinking something similar would look good on WDP teamed with a carbon fiber hood!!

The more I look at it, I do like the wheels, however you should tint your side markers and taillights darker, almost the same shade of the black as the wheels, it will blend with your headlights and if you can tint those windows dark as well

Lokius,
I did tint the rear side markers but not the front... The rear sides were tough to do. I have the film from Rockblocker though, so I might attempt it one day.
I might try a darker tint on the windows too... I'm just scared of the law. But I guess the car is technically already illegal in that I have non-street mods on a street car.

hehehe. The non-navi to navi conversion is definitely a tough one, but I don't think I'd be down with that now. I need to focus on other things. Well, first I'm going to redo the sound system in there. But then it's over!

Zax, i believe i saw your car going 15 south about ayear ago. Haha, how do i still remember this? The 2 screens caught my girls attention "Hey look it's your car but it has more navi stuff" heh
Great ride btw, the stance is perfect!

Question zax, where did you get your headlights cleared? Or did you do them yourself? Im looking to clear my lights (been looking for awhile now) but dont know of any local shop that does them. Im too weak to do it myself knowing ill mess something up heh

Yeah, I did that myself. Pretty much do everything on the car myself. I've found that it gets done properly that way. And if not, it's your own fault.
It's not too hard to do. I could coach you through it. If you are mechanically inclined, you can do it. I would say the "risky" part is taking off your bumper.
Then you stick the headlights in the oven and off you go...

Sounds to me like it might be an overstatement.
I might be up to helping you out one day. Life is crazy hectic these days... and I've ordered most of the parts for my sound system, so that's gonna occupy my time for a while. But this is of course very off-topic.
