NBP_Aspec_05's Progession Thread

Well since I've owned my TL for a whole four months or so and have done a decent amount of mods I figured I should make a proper progress thread instead of posting pictures here and there. I purchased the car in April 2011, when I bought it the previous owner had already put some tasteful mods on it (besides the wheels). It had 18" Konig Zero-in wheels, full aspec kit, aspec suspension, progress RSB, painted grill, and interior LED lighting throughout. Heres a pic the day I got it.

As soon as I bought it I went to discount tire and put an order in for 18x8 enkei ekm3 wheels in hypersilver (light gunmetal in my opinion) had them mounted with yokohama yk520 235/40/18 tires in late april. Got a great deal on these and they will eventually be my winter rims once I get my Advan Rs-d's next year hopefully :P .

Also around the same time I added a shift knob, and a comptech short shift adapter.

In may I added drilled/slotted rotors from brakemotive and have been very pleased with them so far. Had to replace a caliper though soon after but I should have just done it when I had it off in the first place. That was my dumb mistake. I've considered painting the calipers gloss black to match the brembo's up front, any opinions?

Free child labor FTMFW!
In late may I decided to try and open and paint my headlights. They turned out decent but I didnt like how you could see the switchback plain as day with the diffuser out and I really didnt want to open them up again so I bought a set from JNC and really like them much better anyways. First set is ones I did.

Here are a couple random pics from a photoshoot and some others in may 2011.

And the last few mods I have done in July were replacing the short ram intake with a K&N Typhoon, and putting a single 10" sub and an amp in. Sub has been changed out to Kicker CVR now but dont have pictures of it.

Old crappy off brand intake

New intake, sounds sooo much better.

Trunk setup. sounds pretty good, its about 400 watts RMS.
And as of today I installed custom tails by AckTL05 (thanks for the great deal again) They look amazing and have already caught some peoples attention in traffic.

And here is a picture of the wheels I am wanting to get if you would like to give me opinions before I go spend 3300 bucks on them in the future.

Thats all for now, I'm sure I forgot minor things that nobody cares about (switching tranny fluid) but I'm out of money. I did however order my ht spec version two type 1 coilovers last friday from heeltoe so as soon as I get them put on I will post pictures. Thanks for looking and opinions are welcome good or bad.

1 - Love the child labor pic.

2 - to answer your question: paint the rear calipers to match the front.

3 - Nicely done on your mods.

+1 I'm going to do mine once I replace the pads/rotors.

Do you own a house? If not, save your $3300 for a house. If you do, then do what you want!

Good choice on the Advans too. So damn expensive though.

your wheels look good now, man! i'm sure you can use the 3k on other mods lol

The Advans are nice, but imo, not worth the 3k.... it can be used on ur exhaust + tl-s bumper

You need to raise the rear a little. It's lower than the front.

Plus do you even have room for spacers? Looks like you're pretty close to rubbing already.

Nice progress. I vote for a clean set of A-Spec wheels. Slammed TL's on A-Spec wheels look amazing.
