brian,

remember to test fire the projector with zkw lens before you put back into the headlights.
make sure if you need any spacer in between.

Coming along Brian, nice. Dual projectors.....damn this is the headlight project of the year........you know JnC is gonna start getting requests for these. I bet it's really a labor of love, not for mass production.

^^ Agreed, not to rain on brian's parade but the secondary TL projector wont fit without hacking the whole inner side of the headlight. Even if it does fit there isnt enough clearance in the back of the headlight once installed to clear the back of the projector+bulb+ballast plug, I know this because I have tried this project and the only D2S projector that might fit is E46 single xenon or RX330 non AFS projectors. Again, clearance and retrofit in the headlight isnt the problem, clearance in the back is due to the fact that there is a thick metal plate right behind that part of the headlight.

To make the defuser look a bit better, I'd suggest painting the amber bits and putting them back in the defuser.

CCFLs will fit but dremel a notch in the bezel on the top and towards the bottom to make them sit better without being under any pressure, good luck

^What size are the CCFL halos? I searched (completely blazed) last night for 30 minutes trying to find the proper size. This is for a 04. 70mm? 80mm?

Actually it isn't 80mm. I did a lot ofresearch on rings a long time ago. It's about 74-76mm. The ones Brian got are 80mm and that is why they are a tad too big. He's makin them work for his project.

The problem with the rings are they are made of glass and can only flex only very slightly with a margin of error of about 1-2mm max. Using an accurate measurement is better. That is the main reason I went with Umnitza, because they fit perfectly within the bezel. You don't want these under tension because there is a slight chance that over time the vibrations of normal driving over time can produce a stress fracture in the glass. Remember that the gases inside get activated quickly. In cold conditions there is rapid expansion in temp difference. It will be headlight sugery all over again.

within the bezel? I was under the assumption that the rings should be glued perfectly ontop of the bezel. Are you saying the umnitza is such a good fit it almost "snaps" on?

If so, Brian, what is your plan? They are loosely put on there in the photos. How are you going to make them work? $25 mod and some time is way diff then $130...

There is honestly NO 100% FOOLPROOF method of affixing either Umnitza or Oznium CCFL rings to the headlight without some chance of a fracture.

I say this because I used "Lightwurkz" flexible/heat resistant glue that they recommend using and one of my CCFL's still developed a slight 2-3mm fracture in the glass, and burnt out within a month. Now, 12 months later, the same headlight burns out AGAIN, but this time the ends of the CCFL (where the white shrink wrap is) have turned a dark brown and have also turned the (normally clear) glue a yellowish color around these areas of the tube. The other headlight is nearing this point of failure as well. I suspect it is heat related....possibly due to the the ccfl design itself or maybe its because I have them wired to my harking lights and they get wayyyy to hot when the low beams are on? This puzzles me though because they are out of the light path. Perhaps the internal plastic still gets too hot and promotes early failure.

In speaking to my local comrade CHiNaMaN440 who has purchased the Oznium's for his another one of his vehicles, they blow out too over a short time span. Neither brand are living up to their life rating of 6,000-10,000 hours.

I think i'm going to fix it this time, but if it blows out again IM DONE with angel eyes. Headlight surgery HERE I COME!

This is what is putting me off from getting angel eyes. One, when I do a mod I like it to work, and stay working. If you have to keep repairing it then that takes the fun and value from the mod, imo.

I love the look of them but if they don't last I don't want to deal with it. Gerzand you should hit me up when you do yours next time as I would love to help you out and watch how it's done.

I'll see what I can do.

I'm still gonna go ahead and modify the top of the housing (right above the HID bezel) to make them fit. I don't like how only glue is holding the umnitza and lightwurkz angel eyes, they are kind of falling off on my current headlights. I'd rather they "sit" on the bottom of the housing and have a snug fit on top so that they're there permanently.

That's why I'm so jealous of BMW DRL angel eyes, it's not the ring that's the problem. The ring is just plastic while the bulb that lights up these plastic rings is OUTSIDE of the headlight. Angel eye out=replace bulb by popping open the hood and replacing bulb. Too bad the bezels don't fit, I tried them already.

BBK and Sarona roof wing came in today, stay tuned for MOAR pics

Rotora BBK 4 Piston 1PC D/S Rotors

They finally came today. Josh didn't have metallic blue in stock so I had to wait 2 weeks; it was painful

The BBK.

To check caliper/spoke clearance on the front Work Meister S1s, 19x9 +48, I ran a quick test Remember, the offset is +48!!!!

1. Stack a couple of books taller than your rim width.

2. Place the rotor a little lop-sided to the right for caliper room, on top of textbooks.

3. Place caliper on rotor so it slides all the way in.

4. Gently place wheel on top of everything so it rests only on the rotor and is off the ground as well.

IT CLEARS!!!! This goes to show that the Meister S1's are made to clear all BBKs.... it clears a +48 for God's sake Btw, I'm not too satisfied in the color coordination of the "aqua" blue Rays extended lugs, and the "baby blue" Rotora BBK.

Keep the rays lugs or no?

+1. Although, it may be easier to paint the calipers rather than the lugs. Either way, you have to match 1 to the other or it's going to look a little :theghey:

Based on your attention to detail, if you use those lugs with those calipers as-is, it's going to drive you nuts everytime you look at it.

Brian... that is a good way to test fit it... my idea was to use 2 wheel studs and 2 lug nuts and bolt the rotor to the wheel... but looking at your method... its friggin fool proof

sort of glad you thought of putting 19x9 in the front... I dare you to run the 13mm also... 19x9 +35 in the front will be MONEY... with your tire selection there wont be much of a rub at all and it'll sit rather flush

so the rears will be 19x9.5 +??....

I have to hand it to you... you've become a friggin guru for unique mods

hey Brian i wouldn't paint the calipers, leave them alone. the finish on them is way better than any paint can would give you. if anything sell those lugs and get either the black Rays or even better the Anodized Gun Metallic Rays lugs. those would look sweet. BTW that BBK is off the chain!

when you coming back to the island man? need to peep this setup once its installed

yea, like JP said do NOT paint those calipers (not like you would anyways)

i know the look you were trying to get with the lugs, and you are honestly better off painting the lugs a similar matching color.. but guess what, once you put the lugs on or off (hand-tighten or impact) you will probably end up stripping the paint off....

I think the smarter thing to do would be to paint the lugs instead

Thanks bro, yeah I was actually thinking of putting the spacers in front but I like how the caliper is close with the spokes.... makes them more visible.

Rears: 19x9.5 +37

Like it was said above, it's not like you're going to paint the calipers (I know I sure wouldn't touch those beauties) and painting the lugs will last until you put them on...

What are the lugs made of? I'd say get the lugs bead blasted and andonized the same color as the calipers. It's durable and can be matched closely.

O-M-G!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The colors will look fine once everything is mounted. You don't need to change anything imo.

I've got something for you bitches come summertime though
