My Girl's Type-S
My girl just had the Ron Jon front bumper put on so I took a couple quick pics. Next up on the list are wheels, tint, coil overs and blacked out headlights.

Mig- Thanks man. Yeah those are CCW Classics. I have a 16" drag pack and a 17" set for my Firebird.
Thechamp531-I'm on the SW side of town.
Princelybug- We like the look of the RJ front bumper. Additionally, we got the car from NY and the bumper was completely destroyed from the license plate bracket. They had put several screws through it and it was completely wavy. She's not worried about the foglights as the headlights light up the road just fine and we have plenty of street lighting here in city.

Name looks familiar.... are you the guy with the white T/A with the Formula front? If so
I've always preferred the Formy front end, and with the T/A side skirts and rear, it looks great. Plus the CCW Classics look great on your car.... I think it was on the LS1tech calendar right? I'm on tech with the same s/n btw, though I post on here a lot more (in the off-topic sections)
heh....![Hijack](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/hijack.gif)
I prefer the Type-S bumper too, but after the situation you just explained, I don't blame you guys

I go to costco- Yeah that's me man I'm on tech all the time.
lifetimeofwar- Thanks man she sure is.
import4life- We left the old bumper at the body shop. I don't think it would be worth trying to repair it.
rockstar143-The aspec kit would not have covered any of the damage.

Princelybug-Yeah she is really happy with the way it came out and it's an auto.
Myron-Sure did. I took all the grills, fogs, trim pieces, etc. I'm going to mock up the foglights behind the openings in the bumper to see what it looks like but IMO they will look out of place since the openings are smaller than the fog lights and the lights will be behind the mesh also. I don't think it will flow nicely.

It looks great.. but for some reason it looks like it lost the type-s charm.. must be the fogs & lip..

Guys pardon my ignorance I have only been around these cars a few months but what is the fascination with the fog lights and I'm just wondering how the stock bumper looks more agreesive than the RJ one other than lack of provisions for the fog lights? Not trying to start a debate just looking for some other view points.

The RJ bumper is rounded in the front like the base 3G TL.. it makes it seem like it rides high whereas the Type-S bumper and the A-spec lip have an edge with the lip that makes it seem more aggressive in comparison. The Aero kit is still nice.. especially with a drop. Also the mesh stands out and doesn't seem to flow as well whereas the OE lower grille and fogs seem like a nice match. Plus the fogs aren't standard on the base 3G TL which is why people like them on the TL-S.
I think a drop and clearing the small ember pieces in the headlights will do a whole lot.. it looks good now, but I think it'll look sweet with those minor mods.

A good friend of mine has the whole RJ kit. He painted the mesh parts black to give it a little contrast. (he has SSM) He's also contemplating incorporating fogs into the mesh to make the front end look meaner/more agressive.

I think the whole fog light thing is just personal preference. I like the Formula fogs way better than the T/A ones

Tell me about it.. same thing on my TL when I bought it.. I cringed when looking at them. Check the RJ wheels.. I like the inspyres myself, but they're all pretty sweet looking. Check the pics section.. lots of pics with different wheel combos.. RJ's, Volk's, Work, etc..

Yeah haha fog lights are pretty much worthless, how often is it foggy in houston?
Personally i don't even thing fog lights look good enough to spend money on them or cutting up a nice looking bumper to add them.
From the pictures i think it looks great from the front, makes it look alot more aggressive. Now just have to work on the rest of the kit
