JayVee's 3G TL
#2601
Hello jayvee. I just went thru the last 5 pages on this thread and sorry what happened
to the coyote 5.0 but it looks like everything worked out in the end.
Congrats on the GT 5.0, Like the black color. I'm not to familiar with the new gen
mustang/retro late 60's look, but do like the looks 012's and newer mustangs.
A few pages back you mention you used to have a (notch) meaning a mustang right
If so what yr you had? the reason I'm asking, I used have a 91 hatchback black on
black interior which was a hard to find color. But black interior was hard to find for
fox bodied car.
My 91 hatch I had, I was just going to do a couple of mods to it (we know how that
goes). Man I'll tell you! I went crazy with that car.
My mods I did.
Full griggs street suspension (front tubular k-member increased my wheel base 1''
and tubular front a arms with koni yellow coilovers).
Rear panhard adj bar and torque arm and konis in back also had the rear torque
boxes welded for added strength.
I had inner and outer subframe connectors all welded in.
A 6 point roller bar put in custom bend from the loop to the front doors floor
easy to get in and out.
bear brakes 13/12's
Heads, cam and intake. It was a cobra intake xtruded honed and fully polish.
auto meter gauges, racing seats.
Real cobra wheels powder coated grey with yokohama 032R tires.
And extra fab work.
The alignment I had done coast 400 they weighted the car to do the alignment.
all this was done 1999. I do have pic's of that mustang. I just gotta find a way
to put them on my laptop. So I'll be checking your GT from time to time.
Have fun

I was out of my realm. But quickly learned. With the TL I guess I saw it as fragile or finesse and I didn't know how anything removed. And last, stance vip styling is so far off the the chart and opposite from straight line performance...lol! But the end result was something to be proud of on that TL I must say....that audio tho! By hand 1st timer ever!

JayVee your ex state trooper 88 coupe looks great! Those 347 stroker motors screamed.
One of my friends had the 347 88 GT. And at that time he just about killed every car on
the street. Don't talk to much anymore he move out to Tampa FL several yrs ago.
I know your gonna have fun with your 012 GT. I've seen some sick looking late model
mustangs out here in sacramento, dropped wirh 20's and exhaust WOW! Lots of after
market stuff for you car.
One of my friends has an 05 GT making 552HP with 20's big brakes, drop, black with
2 gold strips down the middle of the car. AHHH I gotta stop. I like my TL,got more
stuff I wanna do to my car before I think about something else. See ya!

as for my 347...Yeah, same here! Not many losses at all with that beast! I believe I lost 1x. Evo I believe... and not by much but a loss is a loss. The front end felt like it left the ground everytime! What a launch! Miss so much. For the 12 GT...I am now 2-0 this weekend

Thanks fellas! In person its so aggressive looking. The flat/satin just throws off the block of plain gloss black ever so slightly without taking away from the car itself, but yet adding to it. From a distance u barely notice it until you get in a angle before it really stands out. That's what I love about it the most. Its not something that jumps at you at first. More like wow....Oh wow look at that also! If that makes sense.
Must take better pics. We will see how today goes. I may have to data log today (LAST ONE! before the final ballz out tune). Depending on my friends schedule.

you have 66 pages of progress thread, you should know RED TEXT = SARCASM....
so "the Mustang sounds similar to the TL" in RED TEXT = sounds very muscular

Nice work on the stripes Jay, they came out great! I really like the subtle look of them.
Former fox body owner here too. Mine was an 89 LX 5.0 convertible, blue with a white top. Loved that thing, but it's biggest downfall was that it was an automatic. Had borla x pipe with high flow cats, Flowmaster catback with the long SS tips, 3.73 rear, CAI, and probably more that isn't coming to mind. Was a fun car for a 17 year old, got me in a little too much trouble tho...

This was yesterday after work. First view in broad daylight.
Then later last night around 830-930pm went back out with my friend to make some last session data log recording for my final Performance Tune from AED. Should get the final tune back today after he reviews my data logs pulls from last night and he tweeks what needs to be tweeked. Perhaps squeezing another 10-15hp from base tune to final performance tune.

Nice, man...
you'll probably see my buddy on the Mustang Forums. I believe his handle is "rugedraw".
Used to have a Green 05 and now 2013 5.0.
He had a BAMA tune on the old one, and confirmed now that he has a STEEDA tune on this one. I asked him what HP he really has now.
I also suggested to him doing the same matte white stripes on his white car to look like yours.

Yeah man, I am on SVTP and a few others but the others are mainly local based like TCS TAMPA CAR SCENE and Grab-A-Lane. GAL also has vids on youtube like 1320vids. Lots of local racing recorded!
If he decides on the strips, post pics!

I certainly will, man.
Yeah, I think you did the right thing and that's great...a week of work and you're done. At least for now. You obviously did get the race headers on etc and ready to go? Like, you're tuned tonight the way you're keeping the car for now?

Yes Sir...I like the wheels on the car now, so now worries or needs there. As for anything else? Small accessories here and there like, Re-Tint the ol light tint to limo, smoke peel and stick tint the grille fog lights, Roush side skirts and RTR rear bumper valence and the Boss 302 engine/wire/fuel rail covers that complete the look of the intake swap...that's it

They are...They respond so well to bolt on and u see increased numbers immediately! And you definitely feel them also. Its sometimes hard to get real #s and feel the increase in the seat with just bolt-ons...But its immediate with these Coyote engines.
Like a example. when I had a ballz out civic stroked 1.8 GSR engine with fully built 13:1 comp built for 200+shot equaled 305WHP to the ground dyno'd! It was a BEAST! But then u kick back and think, Only 300... at $7000.00 it cost me to build that...OUCH! vs less then $3000.00 in Bolt-Ons only and a increase from 420 stock crank HP to just under 500 crank hp. with shy of matching # of tq (450+ ish) I know its apples and oranges but.... u know Speaking more of the awesomeness of the NEW 5.0's

order. But if you look there's a under car pic from the back you can see
the panhard bar and the torque arm bar.

^^ Thanks JayVee I got a fair deal on the roll bar. After the work was done the guy
that did the work was kinda upset that he quoted me a lower price before the install.
The GR40 Griggs street suspension at the time was I think 5grand just for the parts.
Was very satisfied with the car after everything was done.
But I kinda want to talk about your tune; IE BAMA ? What mods did you do before-
hand? I see you put in a cold intake filter. Did you put a chip in? And with a tune is it
mostly air/fuel and advancing the timing to achieve more HP.

Either way, I obviously NOT comfortable with that much info out there so decided to go with AED (Advanced Engineering Development) This guy Shaun is THOROUGH! He wanted 1st! Before even discussing $ or tune, a recorded data log as the car sits with BAMA! 2nd, a data log with all parts retuned to stock. Once everything checked out to be fine and no damage done from previous owner OR Bama Tune, he perused with a Performance Tune as a base so I was able to install all my mods and drive safely. (All together approx. 4 recorded data log pull sessions) Without a base tune and all parts installed, the car would have drove like crapola! dash would have been a Christmas Tree and the ECM would be like WTF!. I been driving around for several days with all mods and base perf. tune installed. Its INSANE! Last night, I just received the FINAL Perf. & DRAG tune! Its ON!
Long winded, but hope that helps
