So are you keeping the rear seat in? And for the sub, isnt not having a box going to deprive it of the quality of sound it can produce?

Seat will be re-installed and all int pcs as well as trunk pcs...OEM as much as possible with maybe...very small trims in the big wall carpet panels as they wrap to the front or baffle area. Quality of a IB set up...is suppost to be very very good and true. There is a hand full of guys running IB set up here and LOVE IT! But, idk myself. I am a FIRST TIMER that is completely winging this entire project but learning alot as I go and correcting/perfecting any flaws I find in my design. The MOST IMPORTANT benefit for me that was the selling point was, TRUNK SPACE! I will have 90-95% availability of my trunk space and adding a lil thump in the trunk. And that is RARE for most to say or achieve.

No ones IB (Infinite Baffle) will be the same, but I mimicked JERRY/Niebur3 build and made some changes or went different directions here and there in trim. But I do have my design u see here in my build available for purchase in templates ~ The exact fit! There will be 3 more to add to soon to the already existing RARE IB users out there (Sold 3)

any ?s lmk ~ Just follow me here and see how it all comes out.

Sold me already. PM me your paypal, and ill buy the template from you. I didnt really want to get rid of my kickers lol. plus this is allowing such a clean install.

The only thing i question would be the quality of sound becuase its not in the box, but thinking about it, it is kinda like being in a box, just a big box lol.

Are you going to be enclosing the back of the sub, or sheilding it from being damaged somehow?

me? No, I am a very picky and clean person. I take very good care of my stuff and teach the same to my kids. And if any doubt, I do it myself. But others have put a "False Wall" behind the magnet. Not enclosed...But just a wall with breathing holes and just a structure so u don't see the wires, deadening. materials etc...But I am "TRYING" to accomplish what I have NOT seen here and finish without a false wall being installed. But, if need be...No biggie. That can always be installed when all else is done. PM'd ya the info...

For detailed questions with this set up, go to my audio thread and ask away. The IB/Audio God's are all there...lol

If you were to build an enclosure, it would no longer be infinite baffle. I wish Matt to hear for myself.

Ok fellas, here is the most current updates for the past 2 days since receiving...

in the mail Fri. evening after being THROWN AWAY by accident by my son. Work started really slow and even at a sudden hault when it was realized I was missing key components and tools to complete the job at hand, which was way more in depth then what I had in my head. Now, getting right to it since its late and I am very tired from all this work today in this Fla. heat...

PASSENGER DOOR ~ OEM door speaker hole needed to be cut approx 1/4 diameter to fit the RAINBOW SLC 6.5 Mid and 3/4 MDF speaker ring spacer(s) on ea. front door. CASCADE Speaker Kit & CASCADE Door Skin Kit:

REPEAT ~ DRIVER DOOR:

2x ~ 3/4 MDF speaker ring/spacer where sprayed w/rubberized waterproof sealant (FLEX SEAL) in case of inner door moisture. They came out AMAZING!

Tapping into the source & wires being routed to rear. NOTE: Speaking to Jerry and Gabe, they suggested it would be best to wire the set up "ACTIVE" for more control over all. Hazard to that is...Being careful not to tune too much power to the RAINBOW SLC Tweets. No Problem, I got this )...lol

*Not pictured, all front stage wires were ran individually, twisted and harnessed routing all the way back to connect each to their own channel on the ID i5800.*

...NOT BAD FOR A 1st TIMER, EH?

as always til completion and I AM HAPPY! ~ More to come

Sorry...These were the first pics when arriving at Gabe's shop before reality hit...I was not ready nor was I equipped with the proper tools. ~ Mainly, proper blade in jigsaw or proper dremmel bit to cut the metal in the doors, power connectors & 3/4 MDF speaker ring spacers.

RAINBOW SLC COMPONENTS unboxed

Started the door...until

Tapped into the power source and mounted fuse kit to side of battery box:

TODAYS PROGRESS as promised

Reflecting back to yesterday, showing the RAINBOW tweets~

also reflecting to yesterdays post, here is the comparisons to both 6.5 mids.
*OEM vs RAINBOW SLC's*

OEM with plastic cage/cup~

OEM w/o plastic cage/cup~

and now the RAINBOW SLC 6.5 mid solo~

This is how I started my day today. I started modding the rings for mounting to the door with recess fitting holes so the mounted 6.5 will lay flush. NOTE* I reused the same 3 stock OEM screws that mount the stock speaker to the plastic cage to recess/flush mount to the ring before mounting the RAINBOW 6.5's.

on to the doors~

and that is a wrap!

Thank you very much Anil & Jer. Honestly, i guess i must have a hidden blessed talent i never knew i had. I have never done more then change a front door speaker to a after market door speaker of the same size... and thinking i just upgraded my stock system...lol- and then i jump right into this kind of project.

I do have to say... i would NEVER do this as a living. And i have definitely taken a more fond appreciation to tge real audio gurus and the one who do this for a living. I can definitely see why i was quoted $2000 for install alone... as a estimate.

My hat goes off to all the TM, IHC & NIEBUR3's who are authorized dealers or seek the heart throbbing passion...

FAWK DAT! Not me. This shyt is stressful and agonizing at times. I have never been cut more times then during this build...lol

But i do have to say... i am so waiting and chasing the rush for the final result.

...don't we all!
Well, as you get better at it (on both counts) the less you mind doing it. It's the uncertainty and reliance on the help of others that probably turns you off.

This is true... Because that is exactly why I did not want to do this to begin with. It just was too intimidating. The uncertain, unexplored and uncharted waters was my fear...then all the what if's, all being negative thoughts came into play. Its still tuff. But I just kick back, analyze the issue and find the way of accomplishing what ever it is in front of me at that point. And worry about the rest when I get there. That is exactly why you haven't sen anything regarding the panel. Its there waiting while I tackle other objectives at the moment. I don't wanna jump all over the place and leave undone and sloppy work.

Ok...against popular demand or the demand of ROCKSTAR143...lol I have no pic progress for update and project will be on pause for approx 1 week or so. Instead of having my friend Gabe do the remaining of the wiring, who seems a lil reluctant or don't really want to do it in the first place. I decided to take it to a professional, who happens to run a Car Audio shop. We talked a lil about what's left and what to install in addition. What is left is soldering a RCA to the radio for a line out, AUDIO CONTROL Matrix under the passenger seat and both Rainbow crossovers mounted ...somewhere or under each seat for each side of Hi's/Mids with all RCA's and wires ran to the trunk of the car so I may go ahead and seal the IB ~ cabin from the trunk. In addition to install along with the wires, He will be installing my AUDIOVOX 7in DVD Monitors Universal kits, all from a outstanding deal $$$ !!!

So, now what's left is scheduling the time to be without the car for 1 day. I will have to schedule something with the wife to drop off the car before they close and p/u the next day after work or later afternoon. I do promise all will be done soon and progress will continue.
