First one for passing up on the idea of putting on Type-S grills.
Second one for passing up on a set of free Type-S grills.

Wow Jay...nicely done, sir...looks awesome! Love the type S grills...will look great if you decide to do the honeycomb center grill.
Swoosh, didn't understand and didn't agree are two different things (once again). All I want to know if what type of filter material do you have on your CAI and when you inevitably respond that it's NOT paper like OEM...then tell me how big the holes are on the filter.
Same gauze mesh material is used to make the K&N drop in as the conical filter you have that K&N was ALSO the inventor of, if I'm not mistaken.
Anyway, sorry...compelled to respond, not intending to derail.

the point was you were reiterating what you were told about the problems with K&N filters and I was asking you why? You said the amount of debris that would make it past the filter material. But it's the same filter material that comprises your conical filter!??! I have had all 3 as well, but I wouldn't say I'm an expert...allz I'm saying is that if you're not running paper filters, you're running the same risk as me.
Jay...what you thinking about running in your lower fogs?!?!
ALso, what did you wire as your trigger?!? NOW you could run nokya yellows in that and have them wired to your parking lights so they blink with them. I used to love that on my RSX!

all 3 are 3 different materials....
1> KNN Air filter: to accomplish higher flow in small surface area: bigger holes
2> Paper filter: Paper material and no flow advantages
3> KNN or Any other CAI Filter: Has a larger surface area....hence to increase the flow they do not make the holes bigger....Plus you should read Inaccurate's finding on how he felt more power just by upgrading the filter with a longer filter (bigger hence more surface area)....
Also read up on the CFM on the filters, you will see that paper filters have the lowest CFM's, then the CAI air filters and then KNN filter....
I know you have the KNN filter and its fine coz once i had it too but after i did my research i dumped it.....as i say, if i need help with spacers and wheels and offset, i would ask you and listen to you coz you know more than me....when it comes to engine, well you know

Agreed, that the roof spoiler looks AWESOME!
![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Actually Jay, I'm kinda glad your rims didn't sell, they look great on your car! The headlights, fogs and everything look awesome. Meet looks like it was a success too!
About the fogs, I had it wired to my parking too, but hated remembereing to turn them off and on, so eventualy I wired back to my lows. So they come on when I flip my headlights on and off when off.![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
PS, telling me to read it slowly implies again that I didn't understand it to begin with. I do, I just don't agree. The material used to make your filter and my filter is the same. You are worried about dirt getting through, you have a larger area of filter allowing air through the same exact filter material so technically you're putting your motor more at risk (and closer to ground and dirt and dust being blown around. You came on from some else's opinion that you've taken as gospel, which I appreciate because you're trying to help, but when I ask you to tell me why you become very condescending about how I must not be understanding when in reality I'm not agreeing with you. I know you know more in general about engines, but that can't negate my own common sense approach to asking a question.
unrelated forum link bascially confirming same material for both of ours.
http://www.fiestafaction.com/forums/...t-vs-cone.html
If you came to me with offset and spacer questions or suggestions, I'd still listen, maybe you know something I don't!

Jer,
1> KNN filters are oiled and AEM dry flow are not....
2> Material used:
you will have to see why you OIL KNN filters....also i would come with an empty cup to you for the spacers and offset and stuff but not for brake pads.....you know what i mean ??? no offense....just being honest buddy.....
1> KNN filters are oiled and AEM dry flow are not....
2> Material used:
K&N's air filter is constructed of cotton gauze material sandwiched between aluminum wire mesh. The filter is periodically washed and recoated with oil. The company states that owners can drive for 50,000 to 100,000 miles between cleanings, offering a 1 million-mile warranty.
AEM Dryflow air filters do not use oil so there is no chance of over-oiling your filter which takes the guesswork out of servicing. AEM Dryflow air filters have low restriction while providing great engine protection. AEM's air filter design results in a performance air filter capable of increasing horsepower and torque and so much more!

ATLP roof spoiler...V1 to be exact...The newest, V2 is half the size or smaller... IMO it looks too much like what is out there on the bootleg ebay size and versions... I like the flow and size of the V1 myself. But, NOTE!!! If u happen to get your hands on one, be prepared to make all needed adj and body work to make fit perfect. That was the issue that brought on the new v2. Thanks

It does, it looks AMAZING, buddy...it's nice and beefy!
ANd as far as mods...sometimes you gotta let them all come together...one minue you hate, one minute you may love it!
![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
PS, Anil, I bow to your search skills...I guess you got a point there, if I have to oil, it's probably not as good. Honestly, maybe one day I'll look into going CAI or even the V2. Who knows...at this point, with as MODDED as I am anyway, wouldn't be a big deal!
I'll search for some deals on a CAI.

but but, what was the first thing I asked...what is the difference between our two, if you had answered what you ended up answering I would have STFU much earlier on.
And yes, we certainly are. And the problem isn't that we're opposite. It's that we're the same. Both smart, both outspoken, both trying to help, and both don't back down from their opinions.
Jay...what's next for this beast!?! And don't say nothing...you finally going to get your taint waxed and pull the trigger on installing that system?
