I want to say that the type S rear cutout is 8" so that'll leave roughly 1.12" on either side of these tips. It should look way better than the trapezoidal stock tips. I was trying to see if someone made 3.5" quad tips, but it was way too expensive and this was the best deal I could find. I won't have the rear lip on for another 2 weeks due to my schedule. but we'll see.

Does anyone have these tips on a Type-S Aspec mod? If so please post photos. The tips are nice, but i think they might be lil small/short for the type-s gap space.

Does any body know if this fits the Ronjon's bumper? I am dying to try this mod out. I have been looking for an alternate tip for the Ronjon's bumper for awhile and hoping this will work/look good....

The rear of 04-06 base TL are all the same and it looks like this thread is dedicated to those very model. So YES they fit.

lol... Of all the posts in this thread, that one stood out the most. I'm sure the person who posted this did so without intent. I hope, anyway...

Tips all look good. I've had mine on since last December. Even thought I paid the higher price through another vendor, they look to be of the same quality. These look fantastic and are easy to keep clean. Done with the "stage 3" mid-muffler delete and resonator swap, it looks and sounds custom. No performance perks for those who have asked... it's all about the aesthetics!

So I think it works well with the aspec because it can hide the welds better.

Some manufacturer just needs to go ahead and make a real exhaust system using these tips. So many of us already have them.

$67 mod

Did my 06 tl with these. Removed grey bezel, reshaped into larger "wider" opening, then reinstalled with door edge trim. They look great and wider opening makes for better fitment.

you got to upload it to a host like photobucket and link it back here. You can't link directly from your hard drive (c:/).

I'm not a fan of adding the quad exhaust to the base TL, but I have to say, it does look good.

From the pics, is it just the tips?

How's the fit look with the Type S kit? I'm sure you've held the tips up to the cutouts by now.

i'm jealous! I would have done this mod a long time ago if I found this post while back... too bad I already swapped to an 08 Type S - Aspec Rear bumper. Yep... Still rocking the base exhaust!

Will eventually get the ATPL Quads...

Mind just posting some photos of how the quads sit within the TL-S A-spec Lip alone? Would like to get an idea of gap space.

Thanks!

I'm worried about that as well... I ordered them - but I'm afraid after salt and freezing/exhaust heat in Chicago they will rust.

I hope I will not find myself in the position where I go back to the shop with the OEM tips in the spring...

YES! Did the sound change much or even at all from the stock tips?

if you replace the tips alone, there is no sound change what so ever. if you want sound change you must do the following:

Stage 1 Exhaust - Mid Muffler Delete and replace with straight pipe
Stage 2 Exhaust - MM Delete and replace stock resonator with Dynomax resonator
Stage 3 Exhaust - MM Delete and replace stock resonator with Magnaflo resonator
Stage 4 Exhaust - MM Delete and No resonator. Straight pipe all the way.

I may have gotten stage 2 and 3 mismatched, but you get the idea. I did stage 1 and the sound increase is very subtle. Most people dont even notice that somethings changed. You'll have to do stage 2+ to get a noticeable change.

Saw a Type S today and took a look at the stock tips. I'm pretty sure these are going to be way too small for the Type S bumper cutouts. Anyone wanna buy mine?
