SB, you guys thought about having the meet a little more east than MO? Like in Illinois or even Ohio?

Tyler those LED's you have are bright as hell! Looks like an operating room in your car hehe.

That ONR stuff looks amazing...I'd never heard of it until now. Going to order some asap...

civicdrivr has a 2003 CL. I believe he has a larger gas tank. I rarely get more than 300 miles from a tank in the TL unless I'm on the highway.

Yeah I forgot how fast people drive in Florida. I was heading south on 95 from the Cocoa/Titusville area going 90 mph and I was getting passed. WTF?!?!?!

I'll need to check that ish out for sure.

And yeah I hate that I'll be missing the meet. Between gas, hotel, and food, I spent over $600. With no income, it's hard to justify doing that again.

National meet is always in the middle of the country. It sucks for you but it's fair for everyone from the west coast who wants to attend.

Yeah the LEDs are bright as fawk. The rear right is out though and it pisses me off

Morgan you bitch....your still at 100%....

Ty...yeah i love the highway drives where you see the gas gauge and its still on top of "F" even though you have gone 50-60 miles....that feeling is just awesome....the most i have got on the TL is 34mpg from KC to STL...round trip i averaged 33mpg and got 505 miles in that tank....

i usually get around 380-420 miles per tank depending on how my mood it....the worst i have gotten is 18 mpg when i keep spinning in snow

I got gas last night and here's what I got:

$3.97/gallon
10.953 gallons
298.4 miles

= 27.24 miles per gallon

That's all rural country roads driving though. Everything out here near school is 55 mph. I went home and drove around town for a few days but only did about 50 miles there.

That 27 mpg includes those two hard launches 0-80 that I recorded on video and a few spirited runs though a tunnel.

FML, I can never get any better than 21. But now that I just drive my car when its nice out and not to work I dont mind getting shitty mileage. Oh and Im always going 80 on the highway, so that probably has to have something to do with it.

Now that I'm living off of my checking account, I try not to fly through gas as much as I used to. I only drive if I REALLY have to or if it's REALLY nice outside

I know there's a huge debate about this but I don't think the TL has a 17 gallon tank. When my gas light is on I usually get about 12-13 gallons of gas to fill it up.

^^^ Tyler....I actually did an experiment and came to this conclusion:

When the light comes on you have a little more than 3 gallons
When the range goes to 0, you have 1.5 gallons

the TL tank is 17.1 gallons (i have filled in 17.1 gallons) and this is TOP OFFFFF.....so the light does come on when you have used up ~13.5-14 gallons....it depends on how you fill up as well....if you stop when the pump stops you will prolly get half a gallon less...so ~13-13.5 go in....

here is the link to the experiment:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/so-i-got-50mpg-769981/

No he was on the way to work a few months ago. He keeps tabs on the range all the time. He called me when he was at 5 miles and still ~20 miles from work. I told him he still has fuel after 0 but dont beat on it. It hit zero, he got maybe another 10 miles out of it and the car died

Learning experience

When I was broke in high school...I ran out of gas numerous times.
I thought it was bad to run our gas tanks that low on fuel?

Yeah I think it messes up the fuel pump somehow. Or all of the dirt that floats on top of the gas gets to the bottom and dirties the fuel filter as well.

My wife probably would've done the same lol.

On another note I made it a habit to never go below an 1/8-1/4 tank as the dirt that's in some gas can get in the injectors and cause headaches.

Yeah...the fuel pump uses the gas as a lubricant....no gas = no lubricant hence chances of messing up your fuel pump...

well I can bet (Majofo can perhaps clarify), the fuel system has a filter which prevents all the dust/dirt entering the fuel line and hence the injectors....also the gas stations have filters....

i could be wrong but this is what i have heard....

The fuel also acts as a coolant for the pump. If you are constantly running it down to empty or only keeping a half tank in the car all the time, the pump could overheat and prematurely die.

Tyler should know all about being premature though
