Yo Tyler, I'm gonna be coming down in the next month or so. Any meets in the area scheduled? I'd like to hit one up if there's one going on while I'm there.

Oh hai Frank. The next AZ meet hasn't been set in stone yet. It'll either be in March or April in Charlotte. The next C&C will be March 2.

I've heard good things about the DWS. I've been running Kuhmo Ecsta Platinum ever since I got my A-Specs and I haven't had any problems with them.

Tell me more about the Kuhmos. I was looking at those a while back. They may be an option. They are about $200 less than the MXM4.

I had the DWS on my TL for about 6000 miles. I didn't like them. I found that they were loud and the noise was harmonic. I also had a really rough time keeping them balanced. I was back at the tire-shop about 6 times with them. I don't want to completely bash the DWS....I think I either had a bad lot or the shop did a poor job mounting them. It was enough to make me not want to get them again though.

Once I replaced them with the Michelins all my problems went away. Plus, I got 57K miles on the Michelins and will probably get another 5-6K miles out of them.

I love the DW's on the other hand, but they did wear down quickly. Up next...Dunlop Direzzas.

WOW you are the only 1 who has mentioned any problem with the DWS's....I was thinking of getting a lighter tires on lighter wheels and just run the same setup all year long.....

being gutted out, road noise is amplified in the cabin....if the damn DWS's are noisy, I may have to reconsider....

Swoosh, I've put Michelins on three Hondas--they're expensive, but the quietest tire I have used. And you could cut the sidewalls and all the tread off to lighten them!

I had MXM4s on the Accord, then DWS for a few months. IMO the DWSs were superior in almost every respect, but they felt a little floatier, if that makes sense.

The vast majority of people out there love them. I have read several bad reviews as well though. A lot of folks complain about the noise and the soft side walls as well as diminished performance as the tire wears. I really haven't seen any performance drop with the MXM4.

But....I'm picky.

Congrats Steven!

I don't really have much of an update for the car other than these pictures from today. Yesterday was 64 degrees and sunny and then today was this:

I met up with my buddy Matt (mglum) for some Bojangles during this stupid snow. He's been on the road for the last 3 weeks driving back from Washington State. If I remember correctly, he drove from WA to southern CA, then to Vegas, then to the Grand Canyon, then to Oklahoma City, then to Asheville, then Raleigh. ~4600 miles.

And just a random picture from after lunch:
