Chrome grill insert

I read on this forum about the chrome grill inserts, and I decided to try it. Please tell me what you guys think. Thanks.

I put em on too, It needed something down there since there were no fog lights mounted down there. I think it looks good on the darker colors- maybe that those grilles get 'lost' in the dark color. But it's all about personal taste. Heck they are easy enough to remove if you tire of them.

I believe he is using chrome door edge guards. You can get these at walmart or local Auto store for around $10.00.

All I did was go to my local Advance Auto Parts store and get $3 chrome door edge strips, as was previously stated. You just have to measure it, cut it, then fit the stripping onto the plastic grill. There's an adhesive on the stripping, so it's very easy.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I was thinking about doing something like this when I get my 06. However I was going to go and have real chrome put there. Wonder how long that door edge will continue to look good? Guess once it starts looking bad you can just replace it.

Yep, I used door edge guards as an experiment (comes in an array of colors and metallic finishes). I think I spent less than $5. I found a satin look finish like the grille.

Funny thing is I saw someone on EBay selling prefab in the $20 area. Smart Guy!

Mine are on 6 months now, with no degradation. But I have no issue yanking them if I want to change or remove.

I've seen the ebay versions where the whole lower grille is 'chromed' out.... Looks completely rice, but I think the single chrome strip breaks everything up and gives the front end a better look... And as an added bonus, it mimics the chrome strips in the side markers.....
That's why I did it on mine!!

Honesty I think it only looks good on lighter color cars. I had mine on my NBP and it looks kinda weird, so i took it off. You guys are right, it's really easy to remove.

I think it would look better with two strips on each side compare to only one per side.

I ordered the ebay version of the strips for the Silver TL. They should be here this week sometime....will post pics, but i think it looks Good and breaks up the solid color scheme the TL has. Personally i think the window trim and door handles should be chromed......the TSX has chrome window trim, i guess when they engineered the TL they forgot 'bout it.

Nice! ABP rules...and since they are replacing ABP in 2006, we will be unique!

Yes, do so. I think it really looks good on the darker colors like ABP. The way I look at it is the tail has the metal accents for the exhaust tips and this compliments that by having some metal/chrome accents down low in front. It also compliments the grille.

3 bucks at the local auto parts store. I just wonder if they will crack soon. All who have seen it think it is neat, clean and better in a subtle way.

I read these posts yesterday and had to try it out. I stopped at Pep Boys on my way home and bought these in chrome and put them on. It looks great -I have an '04 ABP/Camel. It looks like it really belongs there -not a bad modification for $3.99. I'm surprised Acura doesn't do this at the factory.

Good look man, I have the same on my ABP. The chrome inserts for the AC vent looked horrible so I didn't put those on.

Are you ABP guys on the ABP team?
