So my ad on EvolutionM is still up.. a guy PM'd me yesterday asking if I was interested in a trade. He has an 03 Evo w/ 140K miles. Apparently the only mods are springs and an exhaust.

What do you guys think?

I have always loved EVO's....

I think those and the Subaru's WRX STI Impreza are the 2 TRUE sport sedan....nothing else comes close....

but I would still keep the TL....are you really trying to get rid of her? any reason why you are trying to sell it?

There's no real reason for me to sell the car as it is my DD and I've had her for over 3 years now. A few months ago, I wanted to explore options since I was getting a little bored. The fact that my car is an AT doesn't help either haha.

I know how you feel....I kinda feel the same way at time....

I wish I would have gotten an EVO or an STI.....but again if you feel its a good deal, go for it....

the only thing which I insists is take it to the dealer and have then do a 150 point check before you buy it....spending that $100-150 is a better deal than buying/trading and then opening a can of worms....

I'd get an STi over an Evo. Nothing beats the sound of that exhaust note.

The Evo interior is total shit. No way in hell I would trade my TL for an Evo with 140k miles either.

I guess you're looking for a small sporty sedan?

I think it's cheap-quality rotors. I have EBC RedStuff on the Brakemotive rotors. Might've been too harsh. A buddy of mine went through 2 sets of Brakemotive rotors using Hawk HPS pads and both sets warped.

Haha when are you putting the SC on the TL? What I really wish to do is a 6MT swap.

With the new Hondata ECU out, I see a new market opening up for the TL. Maybe more performance parts will start being released for the TL platform. FI will start becoming popular. That's just my guess.

I wouldn't trade it for an Evo especially not knowing how the person drove the car. If you would've gotten the Evo it is really hard to stay off boost and mpg is really crap.

Geez... the mod bug doesn't stop.. I'm already thinking about a new mod.

I've been wanting to install a remote start system on the ride. Looking at the Viper 5901, what do you guys thing?

I had that one in my automatic base 04'.

Its a great system. Mine had the two way remote so you know if someone hits or breaks into your car within about a mile distance. Worked really well.

I just hated carrying two key fobs (I had done the switchblade key mod). I would have got it for my new Type-S but its a 6MT and I don't trust remote start with it. You can also get it set up so that you can lock/unlock/start it from your iphone (via an app) from anywhere in the country...but it costs 60$ a year I think and you have to buy an additional like 250$ in parts

I think I paid 250$ on Amazon for it and got the chip key bypass thing for another 55$. SO 300$ in parts plus labor. I believe best buy charges like 500+ for everything installed, but that might be with a lesser system. Mine was remote start AND alarm with a shock sensor.

I was going to do the switchblade mod as well but then I decided to hold off and research the 5901. I heard the iPhone app isn't worth it. It takes about 30 seconds or so to start/unlock the car.

Just doing some research now.. I really like the RFID addon that unlock/locks the car as you walk towards/away from it.

I have the older version of AutoStart

http://autostart.ca/products.php

love it.

The previous owner had it installed at a local Boomer Mcloud and they gave lifetime warranty with the system.

I remember one of my remotes going bad for some reason and replacement one was around $70 through ebay, spoke to Mcloud tech and they replaced mine, no questions asked .

By the way, while you are at it get a BlackVue

With the Wifi hotspot feature enabled you can transfer files from your dash camera wireless to any Apple iOS or Google Android device.
In addition to being able to transfer files you can now monitor your vehicle remotely within a range of approximately 15-20 m.
Formatting your SD card has also never been easier as it can now be done directly through the device.

Let's see how many people are interested in terms of finalizing this group buy and getting units out there to all those interested parties.

So my bulbs/ballast/igniter (one of em) is faulty. One turns won't work (either left or right) and when I turn it off and back on again it'll turn back on but the other side won't work. I have a feeling it might be the igniter..

Instead of finding another set of igniters.. should I look into retrofitting a 55W HID kit into my headlights? Would be pretty sick if I can. I just don't want to splice the power cable though

The cons of running 55W HID's far outweigh the pros in my opinion. I'd keep it simple and just replace the ignitors (assuming that's the problem). Pretty sure I saw someone selling ignitors in the FB chat just recently...

What bulbs are you running?

Edit, never mind, just read that you have DDM tuning bulbs. Not to bad mouth a company or anything but just google "problems with DDM tuning products" and you'll find a whole bunch of people having some sort of issue with their products. There are a few thread on HIDplanet about it as well.

Any how, your OEM components are fine if they come on every now and then and wont come one only once in a while.

Switch back to OEM bulbs or bulbs from Osram or Phillips and you wont have this issue, hopefully.

JnC, my fog lights are eBay bulbs w/ DDM ballasts. My headlights are running Morimoto bulbs with the stock ballasts.

I'll probably just replace the ballasts soon.

Yeah.. at this point there's no point in selling the car. Thanks for stopping by my thread. I'm almost at 152K now!

My paint is chipping so the "black" stuff is actually blue. It was the color of the bumper when I bought it.. however when it got repainted they didn't bother sanding, priming and prepping the bumper.

You know how it goes... you get what you pay for

Maybe I'm doing something with the wheels.. hmm..

Another update for ya, so my fender liners are messed up. I took the car apart a few weekends ago and had to put it back in a hurry. Forgot to put the clips back on and my wheel ate the fender liners up.

Upon removing the shredded fender liners.. I found this:

Car is at 152K so I guess this is normal

What's worse is this though

Ordered Moogs endlinks and they should be arriving this afternoon. I hope to install em sometime this week.

Thanks bud, if I had to give you a tip.. it'd be to just browse the forum for ideas. Most of the questions you have has probably been asked so use the search functionality whenever you can.

Keep an eye out on the Black Market because you can probably find some great freaking deals on there.
