It's been a very long month with work and working on our home. I decided it was time to finish the stone / stucco work I had planned since completing the new siding , roof, gutters, soffit ect. I move my TL futher up in my driveway and wrapped it with plastic while the work was being done. Once the work was finished I moved it to my friends garage so we can power wash literally everything.

I took some time today to refresh the ceramic coating and clean up the TL a bit before moving it back home. I'm happy to have my TL back at home and glad that the list of things to do on our home is getting smaller and smaller.

Thank you! AND YES! It's always great to see that list getting shorter and shorter. I have to get a company out to clean up my chimney and install a modern cap.

Thank you Tyler! Still around 99,XXX. I barely used the TL this year. I bet the gasoline in the tank is bad

Thank you J! You've seen pictures of my house before all the exterior reno work. It's been one very long year. Forget about the house, you got a family which is all the worth in the world.

Just got back home a few days from a 4 day vacation. There was a strong storm that moved in on Saturday afternoon prior to us coming home. My cover got blown off (straps tore off the cover) the other vehicles still had their covers on. Luckily there was no damage to the TL and that it didn't hail. Strange weather in NJ lately.. hail storm just a few towns over and long Island had 4 confirmed tornadoes.

Anyway, so I cleaned off the TL and installed a new VLED trunk light assembly. Someone recently posted their and I ordered one as well. Took some before and after shots. Unfortunately not any night shots.

Next on my list, I'm going to send out the navigation DVD unit out to alpine for repairs. Everytime I reconnect the battery and start the car, the screen displays an error. It resolves once I remove the DVD and let it reload. Also need to redo my vinyl wrap on the roof. It's lasted 10 years and it's more than I ever expected it to last.

Next year I'll take it in for an oil change and a look over. It's been about 8 months / 100ish miles since the last oil change. I'll see if the shop can remove the gasoline from the tank, other wise I'd need to go on a very long drive and run it low.

That's pretty much it for an update.. I don't think I'll be using the TL for a while since we are entering winter.

I believe it's full at the moment. If the weather holds up, i'll take it to my parents house for Thanksgiving which should burn 1/2 tank.

We had a pretty nasty storm here last week and the straps on the cover tore right off. My wife says "your cover came off and the TL is getting wet!" I went to see what happened and saw the straps have torn off. No damages to the TL. I'd tell you, the weather in NJ this year has been strange.. the cover got soaked and had a ton of shit collected on the inside. I ordered a new cover. This time a long cover made for an SUV. I ordered two of the same covers so I can use one for the M40i. Not bad for the price. It will go through the test tomorrow when we have another unfortunate weather system moving in packing some decent wind.

I had plans on taking the TL out for a very long drive to use up as much of the gasoline as possible. Unfortunately, I couldn't due to business. The next round of maintenance, I'm going to request all the fluids to be replaced. I'll pick up the fluids from the dealership and have it ready. At this rate probably in March. The new cover looks alright for what It is.

This is going to be one of my last few posts here on Acurazine. I would like to thank everyone that has been part of my journey as well as being part of others journey. To the meets and friendships, I truly appreciated it all. Once I get around to it, I have a ton of things to do to my TL, including all the new OEM parts I have to install. I will be doing a final / last update. Thank you for all the years of being part of the community. The community is not the same anymore. If you wish to continue to follow my build you can on Instagram iWhine_TL. I haven't decided to make another build thread else where, but If I do, I will provide a link.

Appreciate the love guys. as per @rockstar143 not to rage quit (hope you had a great birthday!), scrolling through my FB memories, took this photo of the TL 10 years ago. This means my roof overlay is 10 years old.. No wonder it needs replacement

Also, look at my front seats. This was also the time I use to cover them and throw plastic over the blanket.. what a fucking nut I was.

Speaking of a throw back, this was taken around Feb or March of 2007, just a few months after buying the TL at the end of Dec 2006. Had to wait for the title to come before I can go to DMV, do the paper work and get plates.

Yeah right? My wife said "looked better stock".. (Insert emotional damage)

All kidding aside, she couldn't believe that the TL looks better now then it did at 2 years old. How did everything work out with Mike? I plan on having him do my covers on the BMW M40i.

He never got back with me, but I didn't reach back out to him either. I really can't argue his price because his work speaks for itself (if anything I'm miffed I dragged you into it) but I think I should button some other things up before doing that mod. I apologize...I see something online and tend to get a wild hair etc...I am on Tein Flex Z's with a very slight drop. Just replaced the front lower ball joints (oem) because I had an occasional "clunk" which I'm pretty sure I still hear from time to time. So I am thinking new oem lower control arms. I have these LCA compliance bushings but can't find anyone in town willing or able to press them in, and Acura wants $590.87 to do them. Or I just buy new LCA's (oem) for $847.34 I work for John Deere Reman on engines for work, you would think I would be handy in a garage...negative. But enough about that nonsense, I'm not about hijacking your thread. If I wanna pick your brain I'll annoy you via PM lol...but does it sound like you're going to be sticking around here?

Hey Jeff!

No worries at all with any of it. Mike is always busy, so I didn't expect for him to reach out to you. If you ever decide to go with him, i'm sure he will work something out. When I overhauled my suspension, I bought new OEM lower control arm bushings, with lower ball joints, upper control arm assemblies, sway bar links and bushings ect. The only thing not OEM was the Tein super street coil covers. The shop I normally deal with had no issue with doing the work, including the lower control arm bushings. Some shops don't want to waste time doing it, so they suggest replacement of the entire arm. Easier on them (labor wise) and if they are supplying the parts, they mark up on the parts as well. Being a real repair shop is rare today. It's all about quick in and out service. My repair shop charged 3 hours for both lower control arms bushings including the lower ball joint. Even though I have 12+ years experience including being an ASE master tech (also worked for Acura), I could careless to do this crap anymore. I dread even swapping on wheels every season. My wife is already on my case to swap wheels. It's still winter.. so that's a negative. I overhauled my suspension as preventative maintenance. It technically was still in good condition with some hair line cracks in the bushings. Every time I look under my TL, it's filled with webs. Poor thing needs a power washing under there.. Keep me posted and please, post whatever you want in this thread. As long as the higher up's heard my concerns, I'll stick around.

Just got back home from a job site. I'll be working all weekend so It's best to make a post tonight. 10 years ago when I worked for Acura, we won precision team. We had a choice of a watch or ring. I went with a ring. The dealership also hosted a fancy venue party to celebrate.

While I was there, the dealership won every year with the gifts being about the same more or less. It was an honor being awarded precision team.

today before heading out, I decided to start the TL and let it run a bit. To my surprise the clock worked!!! The car was running a bit rough. I need to burn the gas in the tank. I've been seeing news articles stating that people are drilling into gas tanks to steak gasoline. Jokes on them if they did this to my TL 😆.

What a cool story about the gifts from Acura and glad your clock is working again! I'm hoping the fact my car is so low that it will somewhat detur thieves from drilling my tank when there are a dozen trucks and SUVs around my car at all times.

If someone did that over $2 more dollars a gallon...
I would set them and their entire family on fire.
Probably not their family but I added that for effect.
Fuck thieves.

I felt a little bit motivated today when I got home from the job site to un-box all the crap I have purchased from Acura for the TL. Here it is.. anyone want to take a wild guess?

More shocked for the amount I've spent for such items..

Only thing not here yet is the supercharger belt.
