I'm heading to ATL this weekend for Formula Drift, so it will probably be next week before i get around to the HKS customization. I'm gonna try and throw her on a dyno before then.

Heres another picture of this exhaust...

Heres a diagram to help explain the theory behind splitters and canards.

Thanks man i appreciate it...

The directions for the grille can be found on either page 1, 2, or 3. If you need any additional info on the grille let me know and ill see if i can clarify for you.

The HKS carbon Ti muffler was installed this morning. The sound it makes it unreal. If you like the tone of the 350Z and G35, you've got to hear this setup. Ill post pictures later in the evening if the internet it working. Stay tuned.

I'm fairly impressed with the results of the experiment. In fact, i'm ecstatic. This thing sounds great now. Its hard to explain exactly how it sounds. A sound clip would help, but the full effect wouldn't come close. If anyone really would like a sound clip, please give me a detailed explanation on how to do so and i will be glad to come up with something.

Heres a few pictures.

Very nice and do you have 2 HKS exhaust going?? They look really nice!!! So is the muffler loud or just nice and mellow?? Do you notice any power increase now?

I had the comptech midpipe cut right before the split. This new design features a single outlet muffler exiting on the passenger side at 45 degree angle.

As far as any performance gains...its hard to tell. It does sound faster haha. It amazes me how it sounds almost like a G35 or 350Z.

Didnt have any time to run a before and after dyno test. Sorry guys.

I will run it down the 1/4 mile later this summer and we'll see what happens.

Does the bumper look weird with just one outlet poking out? Can we see some full pics of the rear?

nice

nice work..... thants for the update pics... can you do me a favor and take a a full back shot of the car? i wanna see how it looks without the exhaust on the otherside... im planning to get the same exhaust but 2 and have them come out straight .. no angles like yours....you think its possible? considering the stock angles out and the tips come back out straight... you think the exhaust can fit straight? thanks

I am just wondering from going from 2 mufflers to 1 will effect the air coming out. My question is with one muffler would it produce less air flow going out now. Wonder if you will lose power in result of going from two to one. Or it does not matter and the second muffler is just more cosmetic than anything else????

Ride looks great! Do you have any pics of how the fog lamps look with the HOEN HID lights? And also do have a website where they can be purchased? Thanks

I'm gonna have to take some pictures in the daylight.

It might appear to be strange to some people with the empty drivers side inlet. Others might like it. It depends.

The comptech midpipe is on the car, which means anyone that inquired about the comptech cat back...im sorry but i only have the mufflers available.

A good amount of people with S2000s have tried this same type of custom exhaust setup, mainly for weight reduction.

My intention was for the look, and possibly a slightly different tone.

(theres a chance its a little quicker now)

Dual HKS carbon Ti's would look smokin!...angled or straight out. Either way would work....depends on your style.

Is your VTEC controller hooked up and running? I heard rumors that it's not compatible with the TL ECU.

The VAFCII is just chillin up there on the dash. Its not wired up. I thought it would work when i first made the purchase, but later realized it wasn't going to work.

1 or 2 muffler it's still the same, cause our car is not a dual exhaust system car... Even though there are two outlet, but it's still comming from 1 pipe... then it split into a Y pipe then it comes out into the dual exhaust tip.

I just went to get a estimate on a custom stainless steel exhaust system, and they're telling me it's $250-$300 for the custom piping... i'm going to go with the dual HKS exhaust setup, with no resonator... i'm wondering if that's going to be too loud, how much did you get your Carbon TI exhaust for?

HKS makes a universal 96 mm and a 120mm carbon Ti muffler. I went with the 96mm version because it features a 60mm pipe inlet which is the closest to the comptech midpipe.

Paid $345 for the muffler. Install was $75.

A dual setup should sound good as well.

That's a good price for a SS catback. I just paid $400.

Once you take the resonator off, your exhaust note will be louder. Maybe without the resonator, you will increase a little more air flow but not alot. My previous car I took it off and I notice it was louder and performance wise I couldn't really tell much of a difference.

These pictures will give everyone a better idea of what the TL looks like without dual mufflers. The drivers side outlet is almost not visible.

It is probably strange as to why i chose to go with this setup, considering most people prefer the dual look, but hopefully this modification will inspire a few of you.

If you could hear it you would probably opt to try the same type of setup.
